Metal detecting Crystal Cove State Beach lead to a surprise treasure find of old silver. I was joined by Irene, Andrew of @TogetherForTreasure and Brad. I treasure hunt with a Minelab Equinox 800 with the 15" coil.

Nice hunt Jim! Glad your foot is OK. I bought 2 pair of the Seekway shoes you recommended for my wife and I and we love them. Also wanted to say thanks for the info on the 540 you gave me. I bought the wife it and she is loving it. We went to HB south of the pier last night for a couple hours and she nailed a gold ring and silver ring. I was blown away by her finds. She is HOOKED on this hobby. I nailed a nice 925 silver necklace which was my best find of the night. BTW, There were at least 7 detectorists there last night and ONE of them was not doing their part. He was digging holes and not filling them in and leaving the trash he was pulling out. I picked up what I could. Hopefully the person reads this and has a change of heart and do their part to keep the beaches safe and clean. End rant ! anyway Jim, thanks for all you do and your vids.
Alex and I hit HB pier area yesterday afternoon, too! I had a hard time finding a penny, Lol! I am finding more and more open holes and trash dumped on every beach now. I was asked to speak to Laguna Beach city council as they are planning on banning all metal detecting due to the holes being left on the beach. Thank you 🤙

That ring was definitely cool as well as old. I was sure it was silver when you found it. As for the quarter I was not so sure since I've found black clad quarters myself. Going to have to get me a pair of those beach shoes for myself as mine constantly fill with sand.

No VDI was seen in clip so just guessing it sounded low or mid so I think flip tab or pull tab off a can and a gold ring another golden item.

Appreciate the contest but tonight I could not see any of the numbers on your detector screen from any direction. Can the screen be lit up when in shade? A complete guess tonight without any numbers is a silver ring and a gold ring.

Hey Jim love the videos! So I decided to upgrade my metal detector and bought a equinox 800, in your experience could you share with me what numbers gold and silver would read on it?? Thanks buddy, and again I love watching all your videos!
Silver is usually a high tone unless it is a thin silver chain, so silver rings 19-35, Gold is more about shape, chunky rings 11-21 thin 1-16 chain some times are undetectable. Dig it all to learn, anything deep will sound like iron.

Yes, beach 2 in wet for most part. or high emi areas in dry sand I move to beach 2. Thank you 🤙
