The video and the song is based on the 1994 FIFA world Cup final between Italy and Brasil. Fun fact: Potowotominimak (the singer) is nicknamed as "Maurizio Kyiv", in reality in Italy there was a football journalist called "Maurizio Mosca" but since there is Moscow reference they twisted the name into the Ukranian capital instead of the Russian one. (mind blowing plot twist)
This is a song about the FIFA 1994 World Cup Finals in Pasadena, USA. From the Italian point of view, this is basically a serious song about one of our greatest military defeats since WW2. It's been 29 years and IT STILL HURTS goddammit!
I was 11 when I watched the world cup final, I was at the beach and I was watching the game with all the hotel guests. I remember everyone's tears as if it were yesterday, and the expression on the face of Roberto Baggio, "the divine ponytail", the true hero of that national team, the most talented and loved player in the history of Italian football. This song made me laugh and gave me chills. Thanks Nanowar!
I think I hear some Last Stand in this (Sabaton song from 2016)... right? Anybody else? I love how Joakim is clearly there in the chorus! He sings a lot more than I thought he would. It's more like a duet!
Yes, there's also the Castel Sant'Angelo reference. And when they sing "catenaccio dignified" they are making a reference to "bushido dignified" from "Shiroyama"
Yes it is from the World championship in US 1994 and my team Swedon took the bronze medal Brazil won. I remember Baggio who was a great Italian footballer.
When I saw this for the first time, I got goosebumps, even on places I didn't even know was possible to get it on from how pure awesome this song is. But for me, since I'm not into football at all then this song was mutch more about war then football. And I agree with you, the bass in this song, just WAOW 💪👍👌🤘
Nanowar of Steel calls their genre "comedy metal". There is some parody in it, but there's a lot more than that in their music. Some satire as well, sure. But comedy is the most encompassing term.

sono dei fottuti geni as allways
and it was declared as "potographer" = fusion of Potowotominimak + Photographer
mind blowing plotototominimak twist
I love the Uniodoni reference to Donadoni!

I am Brazilian... Sorry but I was so happy if that victory!
Well, now we must just wait for a "Dortmund 2006" with Rammstein 😂
I'd argue it's much sadder and heartfelt than ww2 (which we kinda pretend we didn't lose)
World cup is a serious thing. It really is
greetings from germany, we got them 7:1. atleast 3 were to honor italian football-ship, if that makes any sense.

Beginning is clearly Bismarck

And the song Gallipolie
@@poxthepodkaman393and “into the fire” with the napalm in Vietnam reference
@@MAGNATEO yep
"The divine pony tail" is the literal translation of Roberto Baggio's surname, the best Italian player of that period.
for the sake of logic, being Roberto Baggio, his surname should be Baggio

I loved the Maginot Line reference; he just went around the fixed trench like the Germans in WW2.
This is something that I know a lot of people will cry. They are genius. Cannot say more than that. Waiting for the all album this Friday.
I was there when the premiere went online... I saw them Gandalf... the doors of Valhallheaven... 🤣
It is great!!! Thank you about your reaction!

He stayed so serious until "For the FIFA World cup" that it became funny.
Well if you try their older song Quest for Carfour it is spot on like Blind Guardian....
Up there with Valhallelujah and Norweigen reggaeton 😊
Vallhallelujah has been my go to song since I heard it!I’ve listened to the song hundreds of times!
The song is parody of The Last Stand so of course Sabaton has a hand in this, they did the original.
This is how i feel when i play counter strike

real football=foot and ball, american football is more like handball.
I am sure if Soccer would be like this in real live, soccer becomes more popular in the US then the NFL😂😂😂
and at the end of the day it´s still called football ...
no matter how often you call it soccer
because than it would be called FISA and not FIFA :D
