- In a dazzling spectacle that captivated the hearts of millions, the 'pran pratishta' ceremony of Ayodhya's Ram Mandir unfolded with immense grandeur. The sacred event, attended by Prime Minister Modi, saw the resplendent Ram Mandir bedecked with 26,000 natural flowers and adorned with lights from Japan, South Korea, and Thailand.
Security for the momentous occasion was paramount, with NSG snipers, thousands of state police personnel, and AI-powered drones ensuring a safe environment. The ceremony, broadcast live, garnered record-breaking TRPs, while over 1 crore viewers chose Doordarshan's 4K coverage for a front-row seat to this once-in-a-lifetime event. Entertainment giants PVR INOX made the celebration accessible to the masses, offering special live screenings in over 160 cinemas across 70 cities for a mere ₹100, complete with a beverage and popcorn combo.
Across India, 'Jai Shri Ram' flags fluttered proudly on roads, homes, offices, and cars, creating a picturesque view. Reliance Industries contributed to the jubilation with a grand 'bhandara' or 'Anna Seva' to commemorate the Ram Temple's opening.
Delhi witnessed a rath shobha yatra in Khan Market, while Connaught Place hosted a live telecast, concluding with a musical Sunderkand Path and the lighting of 1.25 lakh diyas.
In a unique celebration, jewelers in Gujarat and the pan-India brand Kalyan Jewellers offered special discounts on Ram Mandir-inspired jewelry. Temples across India were adorned with flowers, flags, and lights, reflecting the widespread jubilation.
The Jain community actively participated in the celebration, with significant Jain Acharyas visiting the Ram Mandir. The Jain International Organisation distributed 500 kg of ladoos in Shri Ram's honor, and Lakshmipuri Jain Mandir in Kolhapur illuminated on January 22, 2024.
In a testament to unity, a Muslim woman in Firozabad named her son 'Ram-Rahim' to honor both Shri Ram and the newfound unity among Hindus and Muslims in India.
The global resonance of the event was evident as Indians and Hindus worldwide organized car rallies and processions, displaying 'Jai Shri Ram' flags, the Indian national tri-color flag, dhols, saffron scarves, and strips. Notably, the city of Queretaro in Mexico inaugurated its first Ram Mandir temple, and Indian communities in Canada organized live screenings of the ceremony.
In essence, the 'Pran Pratishta' of Ayodhya's Ram Mandir became a global celebration, uniting diverse communities in joy and devotion.
