  • Cyprus has been divided along ethnic lines for decades, and caught in a geopolitical power struggle for most of the past 48 years.
Does the island need further assistance from the international community? And how are other regional conflicts, like the Russian invasion of Ukraine, affecting Cyprus?
Ioannis Kasoulides, the minister of foreign affairs for the Republic of Cyprus, talks to Al Jazeera.
This programme contacted the government of the self-declared Northern Cyprus to bring our audience the Turkish Cypriots' voice. Our interview requests were declined, but our invitation to talk to Al Jazeera remains open.

The UN needs to take a United force and ask Turkey to leave Cyprus immediately. The Turkish Cypriots are welcomed to join the who of Cyprus as equal citizens.

@@futuredoctor1966 NICOSIA, April 29 (Reuters) - Turkish proposals for a two-state solution to resolve the division of Cyprus are a clear violation of United Nations resolutions over the divided island and will never be accepted, Greek Cypriot leader Nicos Anastasiades said on Thursday...The Greeks voted No ..Keep up with the news plus in 2004 The Annan Plan was voted no also by Greeks in 2004 referendum, and was supported by 65% of Turkish Cypriots, but only 24% of Greek Cypriots . Slava Turkish republic of Cyprus.

Turkey is in Cyprus because it exercised its legal right to come to the aid of the Turkish Cypriots when they were being violently ethnically cleansed by Greek and Greek Cypriots in their illegal quest to unite with Greece. Ever since then all solution attempts have been rejected by the Greek Cypriots notably the Annan plan and recently at Crans Montana. Both accepted by the Turkish Cypriots and rejected by the Greek Cypriots. There's only one side at blame here.

Terrible interview from Kasoulides. A man from a different time and dimension. You can take the shepherd from the village but you can't change the shepherd.
