Ya, I kinda wish I went the bi-color route with my lighting now Jeff, but I went with the day light models. I'm a big fan of Smallrig equipment too. I think the 450B will be a nice pairing with your 220B. I have the smaller lantern, the RA-L65. I find it works pretty good for lighting up spaces by bouncing light off walls & ceiling. I haven't really used it as a keylight, but I see that some people do.
Do you think the RA-D55 will be enough to get create soft light with the 220B? On Amazon the D55 is listed as "commonly bought with" for the 120 models and the D85 for the 220 models. The problem is, the D85 is very big. What do you think?
I guess it would depend on what you plan to use it for. If you're planning to film people and u want the softest source and you can afford it, go with the D85. The D55 I find is good for product filming, and other smaller things
@@Mike_Mandigo Thanks for your response, I plan to film people with it. In your experience is the D85 portable enough to move around with? i.e. Going to different locations and sets, fitting into a suitcase etc.
@@Maxiixam20 ya it's pretty convenient. It's 29 inches long and 7 inches wide (diameter), and it's fairly light, not too heavy, but built good with quality materials. I've had mine for just over 1 year now with no problems and no regrets
What's your Go-To form of diffusion? 🤔
I have the RA-D85 for my Smallrig 220B, I was thinking of picking up a second one or a lantern when I get a 450B.
