Words cannot describe how proud we are of this piece. This story is so much more than a film, but shedding light to the historic nature of Classical Ballerinas and Composures. As with any other industry in America, People of Color are marginalized because we don’t fit the “look.” All the elements we naturally embody were taught to disgrace.
Pursuit of Solace breaks those barriers to re-imagine how Black Americans show up and be our full-selves in any space! Huge shoutout to the PRODIGY, Nasir Scott for being a SELF TAUGHT composer anddd pianist at only 18!!! Thank you to Jasmine stepping out of your comfort zone and taking on a genre piece that once mistreated you, yet you walk with grace and elevation in your movement to show that nothing can stop you. We’re beyond proud of you all and your contributions.
