Hi Ben, I've got a Precor EFX576i with a stuck key error. I followed the steps in your video and disconnecting the keypad overlay solved the problem. So, I changed the keypad overlay but once I'd done that, while the machine did work initially, one of the keys on the new keypad wasn't functional. And, after a couple of uses, the stuck key error returned. I changed the overlay again, another new one, same result - one key not working initially, then after a few uses the stuck key error. It seems that the problem must be further 'downstream' - any suggestions? Thanks!
Hi, maybe check the backup battery Voltage level, low or under volts in battery will bring up a stuck key error or it would be communications cable from console to lower circuit board.
@@BenHudspith Battery voltage checks out at a healthy-looking 12.5V and a substitute communications cable yields the same result. I'm thinking that something has gone wrong with the rather-pricey-to-replace upper PCA, does that sound fair?
@@emmaleemartinez7829 Still unresolved sadly. I did end up replacing the upper board and it still didn't resolve the problem. After I'd done that I couldn't afford to spend any more money on it so I now just use it with the wire disconnected and it's functional, I just can't use any of the programs. Very annoying but when I contacted Precor about it there was going to be a fairly hefty call out fee on top of the parts and labour charge to look at it and I couldn't do it.
Is there any physical technique to unstick a stuck key? or does it mean the key pad is damaged and cannot click back into place for normal use? I have an older EFX556 that was was going great, but has the dreaded "stuck key" message, probably no parts available any more too. I haven't disconnected the ribbon cables yet, but I will and hopefully it's the top button bank thats stuck and not the resistance controls.
No, you can't unstuck a stuck key, once you identify that a stuck key is the issue, the keys are made of thin metal & key is stuck down because the thin metal is broken, you need to identify the stuck key then replace that overlay sticker with button keys on it.

Hey Greg. I just saw your comment about this and I have the same issue - did you find a fix or did you have to buy a replacement upper PCA?
