That scene reminded me of a time when my ex received a phone call from another woman and he got out of bed, dressed up to leave and as he was leaving I knelt down and begged him not to leave with tears strolling down my face. And he walked out of our bedroom to go meet a woman in a bar on a rainy night. I didn't see him again until evening next day. Oooh this movie
Nobody talks about the man slapping her first...as if it's ok for him to do that! She responded in self defence and it was counted against her as an offense! Such bias! See her begging and kneeling for the man not to go...over what? It's so pathetic! It's a man's world indeed. So annoying! Now the man returned home on a wheelchair giving the woman more work to do. Great films and acting but I'm displeased with the message that a woman's submission means mistreatment. That is false. No man should disrespect and slap his wife! She is not a punching bag and he has no right to do any of the same things Rhoda is reprimanded for doing, in response to his evil doing. Submission goes both ways. I think this may validate this behavior in the eyes of men like him. I don't like seeing her beg Clement. It sends a bad message. No one, man or woman, should have to deal with disrespect and poor treatment. If you're one flesh, you treat your spouse like you'd treat yourself. Hmm, you’re right plus beyond husband and wife Ephesians and Colossians drama, the Bible already made it clear that we should all love our neighbors as ourselves that way if you’d not mistreat yourself why mistreat someone else not to talk of your wife but from what I watched here, I don’t think submission was linked to being maltreatment. Rhoda went to report to her pastor I don’t think he was supposed to pat her on the back and tell her what she did was right he said her husband was wrong but she shouldn’t have slapped him too, besides he wouldn’t scold the husband in his absence, if the husband was there he’d have scolded the husband accordingly but since the woman was the only one present he had to scold her as she too was wrong.....Also two wrongs never make a right, she already caught him sorta and all He was doing was playing the defensive card which is like our human default plus he was already playing dice with the enemy, she should have been patient at that point, yes he slapped her in response to being called a bastard and he was already guilty so he was already defensive which was absolutely wrong but two wrongs never make a right...He’s so blinded that he can’t even see that he’s been consumed.....She apologizing is cause she doesn’t want her home to be destroyed and because she knew the devil was toiling with her husband seriously and she didn’t want the enemy to win but I don’t think submission was about women being maltreated.... And I think the moral of this story is that evil communication or union corrupts good manners .....Clement wasn’t like that from the start, his group of friends corrupted him cause he wasn’t a strong or firm Christian plus he shouldn’t have entertained them. The movie is good although I'm still watching. When she went to see the pastor, she said her husband has been away for 2 days . That's Saturday and Sunday. Yet she went to his office the same Saturday. That does not add up. Please take note of that Director.
May God protect our home. When somebody is losing her home as illustrated in this movie, it is simply going to be as demonstrated by her in this movie. When someone is deeply troubled, simple recollection becomes difficult. I think this may have nothing to do with the director.

Please someone explain why the men in these films can beat their wives and they focus on the fact that the wives fought back? The Pastors chastised the wives for hitting back even though the man is committing adultry. This breaks my heart.

This was hard too watch. The husband broke covenant with his wife and slapped her and blamed her for his cheating. The character Maureen looks like she died in her sin and the husband returns home crippled. But thank God for the grace given to the character Rhoda.
Knowing what I know now about marriage and straying men, if it was me I would just go for an extended fasting and prayer time. She stressed herself too much. All of that was not necessary. A woman's peace and joy should not be snatched by an aldulterous man.
This is the one message I hate about African Christian Movies. The Men who are calling themselves Pastors in Real life love to portray this scenario of Husband can beat his wife mercilessly and he is Right. Yet the wife who slaps her husband one time in defense of his strike against her is soooo wicked for raising her hand against her husband. I am 200% African and my culture doesn't involve husbands beating wives. I've NEVER seen my dad beating my mum and I only discovered they could disagree (no heated arguments though) when I was probably an old teen. This movie is not about validating African husbands beating up their wives. Rather it's about God, forgiveness, marriage and how to build a Christian home amidst trials.
