I think the rank icons on everything need to go, it's tacky. I like this season's reward. So much that I think every season should have a banner and border associated with the season theme. Maybe throw one other item in every season (decal,trail,boost,etc) and I feel like people will be happier than they are now.
Visual designs aside, I feel like Rocket League would benefit from players getting TWO season rewards per season. One of them can be a more popular item, like animated decals or wheels, and the other can be a less popular item that only specific players would flex, like player banners, boost trails, and goal explosions.
I haven't played long, but I have been happy so far. Goal explosion was fun, also decals were nice, boost totally useless, but mostly they are just trophy how good you have been in different season.
2 wins away from Champ rewards in 2s and I cannot bring myself to grind it out. Every second lobby is a smurf. I could easily get my own smurf but why when the rewards are so bad? You have hit the nail on the head with this video, well done!
This might be unpopular, but what if they added a separate credit system (aside from paid credits) that allowed you to "buy" from an exclusive shop (like the difference between the eSports shop and regular) and the higher rank you got, the more of those credits you got? With that shop containing a certain set of exclusive items that could be purchased at any time. Idk, that might make the rewards more worth grinding for, but then again, may also promote illicit methods of obtaining said items. Making those particular items untradable might help, but it might be neat to be able to choose your rewards by saving up credits, or something similar. Maybe even have a tiered shop that leaves certain choices inaccessible without having achieved the proper skill in the previous season. Idk, speaking out my ass here, but it could be an opportunity to get cool items to show off. I've always kind of been cringed out by using a decal that shows what rank I've achieved, because I am kind of embarrassed to only be a champ as I am grinding. Gives toxic players a reason to tell me I suck lol
I always use the rank rewards. Aside from people boosting they indicate that you are trustworthy and are actually the rank you say you are. I’ve noticed even when I was in gold. I had Gold rewards and got into plat but I didn’t have plat rewards so the plat players were toxic, ignored me and ball chased simply based on my skin. Same went the other way, when I got the diamond rewards but found myself demoted to plat. My tm8 generally trusted me a bit more and I had much better games. I just got into champ 2 weeks ago and I’m back to square 1. People keep trying to tell me how to play or blaming me for their mistakes simlly becuase I wear the diamond skin. Another thing I noticed was how many players that are in diamond, they play like a plat but have champion skins and goal explosions. It hilarious the amount of people who boost to get rewards. It’s stupid. They can’t keep up and I always run into a tm8 in D3 div 4 (usually the promo game)that has boosted to champ, they are probably in the process of getting themselves demoted so they can enjoy their games just with the rewards but it has been so frustrating for me. I spent the entire season last season getting to D3 div 4 promo, running into a boosted plat as a tm8 and losing that game only to then lose my cool and get demoted all the way back down to D2. Finally hit that champ tho and the toxicity is still the same. C1 just feels like it’s filled with boosted players. I found C1 easier than D2. GC here I come. I just wish people didn’t boost. Also I like the car skins, the wheels, the goal explosions to some degree( they could be cooler) but I dislike the seasonal boosts. I like the two streams coming out of my car but all the seasonal boosts only have 1 stream and it seems kinda Meh 👍 GG anyway. Sorry for long comment
I understand where you’re coming from, I see the same behaviors. That is why I do not make a show of my rank. I want to rank up, without being throttled by toxic rank gatekeepers.
my honest biggest issue and one of the reasons i stopped playing ranked all together was the reward system, not the rewards themselves some are cool. but man at gc having to grind 10 wins against the top 0.5% of the game to get fuckin bronze wheels just sucks. and like yea ik if u play a ton ull get em eventually but having to around 200 ranked games per season assuming ur around a 50% winrate is just awful which isnt like a ton by any means but lets say im gc3 about to be SSL and i want to get the SSL rewards. i rank up win 1 game so im now 2 games into SSL all for bronze/silver rewards. it just feels so decentivised to rank up why would i grind myself to SSL if its just gonna make getting the rewards that much slower and harder. awful system tbh edit: should mention that at a point in the video it said "this stops u from sitting at the bottom of a rank for the rewards" however this is easily fixed by what alot of games like rainbow six does where it just gives u the rewards of ur peak rank this make it to where if u rank up ur still willing to try in that last week to get as far as u can without incentivising u to stay in low gc or w/e
@@Keyourasa The ranking system is well made, the only issue is inflation which is midigated by hard resets every couple of seasons. Getting rewards is slower because every season is 3 months long. Having to get 10 wins in a rank for rewards encourages people to grind more, and really proves whether or not you actually belong in that rank.
@@TheHeisenbird its not about having to grind the ranked rewards for ur rank. im okay with that its a lil dumb but sure i can live with that. its that if im gc i have to win 10 games against gc players for fucking bronze silver gold plat diamond champ rewards that is 60 games for rewards below where i am. and that is terrible
Tbh I kind of like the way ow system works. It gives you currency with which you can buy golden weapons for heroes. The amount you earn drastically increases depending on your rank. I know many would not like this idea, but personally I’d hope they add the rewards without the rank logo, just the colors (and maybe additionally black). You get points per win with exponential influence of your rank and at the end of the season you get the rewards based on the points you earned throughout the entire season. With this system you would get rewarded both for your skil/rank but also for your dedication. It would encourage to play to get 1 reward higher than you usually would and improve more that way. As a gc I’d love this system, cause rn it’s 1 week where you play to get the rewards and that’s it. I’m too far away from ssl and don’t have enough time to get to ssl so Rest of the season is kind of a waste of time. Titles of course only go to the certain ranks. And yes, the amount of points a reward cost increases exponentially and the amount of points you earn increase exponentially so plats don’t get the ssl rewards for free. It’s just to a level of 1 rank higher than usual if you really grind hard and 1 rank lower if you don’t. Kind of like the tournament rewards but counting on the total points in every ranked game at the end of the season
I think the thing that most are forgetting is that prior to sgc, silver was one of the most popular rewards, purely because it was the closest thing to tw in season rewards and i really liked that because almost everyone could get the most desirable thing and since theyre not tradable, why shouldnt everyone get the most desirable item if they cant throw money at it?
They should make a point system and offer stuff the community has always wanted as rewards, and if you don’t have enough from this season, you have to save up for next season. Things such as under glow or making black and white a primary colour for your car, or a “painted” voucher to use on any item you choose.
My problem with post F2P rewards is that the design barely evolves between ranks. For decals I think it makes sense, but other rewards should change. Look at legacy S13's wheels. They're horrendous, yes. But at least they change between ranks. On the other hand, look at the infamous F2P S4 spike wheels. The design doesn't change. The rewards are literally meant to be about rank. "Cool items" are in the rocket pass. Also being able to buy higher season rewards would be the equivalent to boosting your account. Would you also like GC and SSL titles to be in the item shop as well?
2:37 this tweet and statement are literally impossible in rocket league when a tournament is run. One player literally can't ddos the other player cause of how the servers work. The only way that one could ddos another is if you are using hamachi to run your own server for custom map custom games like Lethamyr does. Even here, you could only really ddos the person running the server. Just a point that bothered me, even when I first saw the tweet
My main thought is that whatever they choose for the reward, it must be able to go through each rank and not be completely different things. If I like it, I use it. If not, then I don't. But I like having them anyways.
In my opinion Season Rewards Needs to be better because in Rocket pass people are spending money but abt Season rewards you literally give time to the game and compare to other games going to higher rank is alot difficult in RL When someone enters a New rank They want something good And I guess if yu remove ranks from the game than theres no good reason to play
