Welcome to my review of the Cathcart Circle Line in TSW. This is a short route, that didn’t really muster up all of the usual hype that most other routes do, but the route really did deliver, and it seems like a step in the right direction for DTG.
Dovetail have definitely showed how good they can really make DLC's, I really hope they continue in this type of quality, and just don't copy locomotives like they did in Hamburg Lu'beck route
I also hope they continue this quality for future routes, especially the Rush Hour Routes.

Yeah They did a great job of this route. But yeah I would also like 6 car services on timetable. Maybe after rush hour, they will update lots of routes to rush hour standards, for example: Number of carriges per train at a certain time of the day. I would give an 8.7 out of 10. Hope the next route is this good. Won't be getting Cane creek tho.
Yeah, I think this route could really benefit from getting some of the upgrades that are coming with TSW: Rush Hour. I hope they continue the trend of these quality routes. I'm not sure if I'm getting Cane Creek either, but the answer is probably no.
The only thing I don't like about this route is that you don't get to really boot it on some lines.

One thing I have noticed about AP sounds is that there is always plenty of track flange sounds . With most DTG train sounds , there is never that much
I really like it. I like this type of commuter routes. The only thing is that just like you, I would've preferred having more trains, especially the Class 320, which is a very similar train (even though being made about a decade after the 314).
They recently fixed the lighting, That was my only problem and it is an amazing DLC

I don't know which route i should buy SEHS or Cathcart Circle? Which of these do you prefer?
Southeastern High Speed. There is much more to do on that route than Cathcart Circle. You have more trains that come with the base route, more of a variety in services, and just generally, as I stated before, more to do.

i do enjoy the glasgow carthcart train route i would like to see class 380 train with the extra dlc

Yeah should of had more than 1 train 100%
At the time of the route it was the only train that ran the whole timetable on a regular basis
DTG already said why it only came with one train.
They only had time to develop the route and one piece of stock, before the major shift to "rush hour" began.
So, it was a choice of providing us this route finished, or putting it on hold until after rush hour, with the added complications of adding everything new that brings.
In other words, we probably wouldn't be getting this route in 2021 if it had more stock.
They NEED to add more AI stock to Glasgow Central thought, its disappointingly quiet.
@@underwaterdick I'm not sure if I believe this from Dovetail though. Let's be honest, the Class 314 is functionally and aesthetically the same as the Class 313 which they're already developing. Sure, there are minor tweaks, but most players won't notice them. As such, I believe that they should've used a different locomotive because they could have just reskinned the 313 in ScotRail livery. That being said, I do love the 314 and how it looks and drives so 🤷♂️

How do you use the fan on the class 313
Nice review, would you recommend it over SEHS? I was thinking about getting that plus the 465 in the next sale, but Cathcart looks pretty decent so idk which one to go for
I would recommend you get SEHS and the Class 465 over this route, and then pick this route up later on at a lower price. There is just a lot more to do on SEHS than this route, with it having more miles of track, and the two different types of services (High-Speed/Commuter). Plus, with the Class 465, it increases the variety of trains you see on that route, bringing the overall value up higher.

Personally I would pick this route as a base route over SEHS, but with with 465 DLC, it's a far more versatile route with much more for your money.

Nighttime aside I think this is the best made TSW route for me (many I have still yet to play in fairness) but runs very well, a lot of good detail, hopefully they'll have some more trains for it at some point in the future!
Bought CCL for £14.99 and really enjoy it. The 314 is satisfying to operate, and there is a good mix of speed zones. All I would say is another train would be beneficial
I agree. The route is great, but it would have been so much better if there was more rolling stock to diversify it a bit.
Headlights not lighting things in the dark is realistic
