  • Hobi is known, praised, and celebrated as one of the best dancers in K-pop. Yet he released a documentary learning more about dance.
For most people, dance is just a hobby, a fun thing to do during free time, etc. But for Hobi, dance is more than an extracurricular activity. Hobi had been dancing since he was a little boy. After all these years, his love for the craft grows even more.
Hobi is a certified global superstar as a BTS member and a solo artist. It makes sense that people from his past were unsure what to expect meeting him now as j-hope. But then the Neuron crew members met Hobi and realized that he was still the same kid they danced with before.
Boogaloo Kin said something interesting about working with Hobi. This next clip showed exactly what Boogaloo Kin meant. Despite his title of "K-pop's best dancer," Hobi watched Boogaloo Kin like a wide-eyed kid.
But he is grateful for what he has achieved and wants to help others reach their dream as well. So Hobi mentors other idols and gives them the spotlight.
Being a perfectionist, Hobi admits to always wanting to do better in a performance. But being the humble king that he is, he puts other people's feelings before his.
When Hobi did the "On The Street" dance challenge with LE SSERAFIM's Eunchae, he joined her in the tutorial as if he hadn't memorized it yet. I believe Hobi did it to not put pressure on Eunchae to memorize the choreo ASAP.
Being in his Dance Mentor j-hope mode, Hobi knows when someone is not satisfied with their performance. He also knows that Eunchae may be too shy to ask for another retake, so he takes it upon himself to suggest it. Even though it was his dance challenge, Hobi gave the final decision to Eunchae.
At this point, Hobi could already read Eunchae perfectly, so he suggested another retake. Finally, Eunchae is satisfied with her performance, and Hobi chose that one to be uploaded.
Next up was ENHYPEN. Even though Hobi was the star of the dance challenge, he was worried that he was covering the other boys.
Hobi also wanted to use the dance challenge to promote ENHYPEN. But instead of doing their choreos like he did with Eunchae, Hobi asked for their signature pose.
Hobi wanted to highlight ENHYPEN in the dance challenge instead of himself, so he gave them the liberty to decide if they were satisfied with the performance or not.
Despite being a perfectionist, Hobi welcomes mistakes and doesn't mind doing things over and over again. In this particular take, Jimin was unhappy with his performance and asked Hobi if they could do it again. Dance Leader j-hope agreed with no hesitation.
During Hobi's On The Street dance challenge with Taehyung, he allowed him to suggest his creative ideas.
Being roomies for a long time, Hobi knows when Jimin is not satisfied with his performance. So he asked him if they should do it again, and then went to position when Jimin said yes.
Learning the choreography is quite easy for Hobi. But even if he finds things tough, Hobi is not one to back down. In fact, BTS took hours to memorize DNA's complex choreography. But Jimin revealed that Hobi mastered it in record time.
I hope you enjoyed this video as much as I did making it!
