Is there a size your bog has to be compared to your pond? I'm building a similar style but smaller and like the cantilever idea. My pond will be 1000 litres roughly
Looks great! You could replace the elbow between the bog filter and the check valve with a tee and a valve if you want to drain the filter for maintenance.
The level that drain is at is the water level your pond will drain to if there is ever a leak in your filtration system. Basically in the event of a leak above the pump, the pump will drain your pond to the level you have the drain intake is at. A safety measure to make up for this would be a float valve that shuts the pump off if the water level gets too low. The over all build looks great though.
Hella clean plumbing...I love it. Dennis doing it right with clear clue and primer. Drives me nuts when I see people build stuff like this and use purple primer with blue glue. I really wish I had bought a Sicce pump for my sump. The app control is so dope. The above ground is turning out awesome Mel. Can't wait to see it stocked!!
@@HaYNFishKeeper I know but I paid too much for the one I have to just not use it. I'm sure it will need to replaced down the road and I'll definitely upgrade then. Plus, I finally have the 150 on cruise control and don't want to ruin it.
Always a banger upload.. Those flowers are gonna be beauties. My goodness why do I feel like I need a pain killer for my back after seeing all those rocks/pebbles.. 😲😭😂😂 The pond filter came out so nice. Awesome job Dennis.
Very well done. Dennis is obviously an ace fabricator. The only thing I’d have done is put a T in to set up your drain. Can you tell me how many gallons the tank holds and what the GPH of the pump is. I’m sure the water will be crystal clear and almost maintenance free. I love bog filters because of simplicity, expense to make and because you can put plants in to look beautiful. Now let’s get more updates on Tiki 4.0. Myself I’m 98% finished with Flat-rock 3.0 pond. Wish I could send you pictures. Not sure how to . Love your channel !!

Hey brother, glad to see you in high spirits again. Hats off to Dennis, awesome job on the filtration. The only thing I got to ask is are there dead spaces in the water flow through the crates as water always finds the path of least resistance ? That is really turning out beautifully, great job to the both of you. I have a question for y'all. I love this idea so much, but I live in the far boonies of northeastern Missouri where it can get really cold and stay that way. Can you a) do a functional bog filter that can handle air temps all the way down to -10 for a week or more, and regular winter temps where it rarely gets above freezing for weeks or months on end, and b) put a heater in a pond that size for those same air temps do you think? I have no idea what kind of heater is in a hot tub, but maybe something like that? I know people have koi ponds up here, but those are all in-ground and fairly deep so the fish can stay below the ice. Above-ground is a whole different animal. Help this very unmechanical old lady out with some ideas, please.
I’m working at it I haven’t stabilized the water temp yet I’m looking at the cheapest options... I’m in Northern Cali it gets hot in the summer and maybe like 30’s/40’s in the winter🤙🏽
