Ogmios, in 1994 I kept a small orange bookshelf in the back seat of my 1965 VW Beetle. It was my brother's childhood bookshelf, and I was searching for the right place to donate it. He'd left home, and it was no longer needed. I didn't mind it being there, in fact it gave a cosy atmosphere to my journeying. I missed my brother. It was the only tangible link I had to him. It took me a few weeks, maybe longer, to let it go. I realise now that rather than being lazy, I was being respectful towards myself, by allowing time to process my emotions. Wise. Nowadays in our modern vehicle, we keep tissues (for tissue emergencies) and a phone charging lead. We've had flat phones far too often, and eventually learned the lesson that our phones were trying to teach us. From memory, a chamois cloth is helpful for wiping the inside of the windows, so I'll do my best to find ours. Thank you for this lovely, thought provoking video.
My must haves in the car: tooth brush, spare glasses, water. Also I have two of those Chinese chime balls in the door pockets. I call them, inertiaphones. They chime nicely if you drive smooth but clunk, if you’re harsh.
Hi Ogmios. I haven't looked through all the comments but you need to carry a small piece of wood, approximately 6" square. If you get a puncture whilst on wet grass or boggy land, you can use this to create a firm surface on which to jack your car up. No worries.
That’s the lay bay by between the Miller and carter and Loughton. Lovely part of the world. Not far from where your parked is a nice pub at the top of Baldwin’s Hill overlooking the forest. Watch the sim set behind the tree many a time.
My elderly hatchback became incontinent in the radiator department and so had to be topped up a couple of times on long journeys, or when the planets took a certain alignment or because it was was a nice day and just relaxed. Water in the boot for her and drinking water under the passenger seat for me were essential for felicitous progress. We also had stowaway special pebbles, and pinecone fidget toys. The mighty fir gifts us the most tactile and non-toxic of sensory digital accesories. Very handy for standstill on the M25.
Peace and Zen reflection from a motor Master. A beautiful moment in my day. Thanks as always Ogmios. Maybe a dehumidifying wardrobe pouch secreted away as mine is will keep the freshness within. 👍
Beautiful Ogmios. 😌 I'm happy to learn that I have most of the items in my car that I need to survive. I also have a thing that puffs up tyres using the power of the cigarette lighter, in case I meet someone with a tyre that needs puffing. You should add a nice woolly blanket (car boot sales are good places to buy them) for the back seat in case you have a pal with a muddy dog who needs a ride. Of course a woolly blanket has a myriad of other uses too & adds a cosy vibe. ❤
Greetings. You need to get a genuine 0GM105 private plate, some sick alloys, spoiler, dice on the mirror, and some 'go fasting' stripes. Joking of course.
I have a lil emergency kit in the boot at all times. Hydraulic jack, lighter port tyre pump, tyre sealant, oil, premix coolant, bungee strap, 2L water bottle and some wellies. Also on board is a LED Projector torch, first aid kit and DPF cleaner. Admittedly the DPF cleaner could probably stay in the garage. But if it fits it stays
My van survival kit consists of some chicken satay sticks, left over from a Tesco meal deal, that fell between the passenger seat and gear stick, I wouldn't recommend but if you were desperate they might just make the difference
Some kitty litter in a sock on the dashboard can help reduce condensation and a bottle of water is always good to have, wash down those crunchy snack bars.
05:33 OMG! You completely lost me at rap battle in the woods!!!!! (Temporarily, of course, I came back).🥰 Had to go looking and saw you vs Wizard - Don't Flop. The hippiest rap battler, I ever saw, I will be looking for more!!! Thank you for bringing so much joy to my day. That's a direction I never saw coming... 🥰😂🥰
I always suspected you were a bit weird, but now I've seen the contents of your glovebox, I've changed my mind - I KNOW you're weird. I guess the Gorilla tape is handy, as it appears to be keeping your radio from falling onto the floor of your car. I can't wait to see the content of your boot - no, strike that, I CAN definitely wait - I will watch the rest of this when the effects of the incense have worn off... Only joking, mate, you are totally zen and an example to us all - enjoy your journey my friend.
Reusable cup and cutlery could be added - so you don't have to use disposables. We've missed you in our household and were delighted to see this pop-up under 'Subscriptions'.
I’ve an expired senior railcard that is excellent for scrapping ice off windscreens. Two plastic gloves from petrol stations to cover the wing mirrors on frosty nights. A length of blue tissue paper also from petrol stations for wiping condensation off the windscreen. Smart phones can’t do those jobs. ❤
Excellent kit list! I keep most of these in my van too, only i have a bonus hob and kettle for making tea and a double bed, just in case! 😅 I had the same ice scraper, it broke scraping ice 🫣
Oh so relaxing, I think I almost dosed off there. Thank you so much. Please do more videos the world needs your input. cheers, take care and stay safe.😃👍
Lovely video - thank you Ogmios 🙏🏻❤️ i cannot drive, but am hooked on your videos. Twas great to see your essential kit and great to see you on a beautiful walk in nature 👍🏻
If it's a boot leak, you could check the compression arms are bolted in correctly, sometimes they undo. a boot not sealing properly can cause that. And also - it's often a rear light seal. I admire your instinct to help @kenneth
You have covered so many potential emergencies here, but I can't help feeling you also need some old matting to provide tread for your wheels if you get bogged down in a muddy field; and a small shovel in case you need to dig your way out of the snow, or to bury roadkill, or a secret.
Thanks Ogmios. 12.5 minutes of zen bliss! I matched you on a few items including gaffa tape and an A to Z even though I drive in London about once every two years these days. My additional recommmendations would be a road atlas (because you never know when google won't solve your navigation problems) and a thick blanket for when your navigating goes so wrong that you're stranded overnight in the middle of nowhere. Positive greetings to you from a former resident of your patch of North London.
Small tissues or a nearly empty toilet roll, in case you need to make like a bear in the woods, and two 4 hour long tea lights for warmth if you get stuck in a snow traffic jam. Also a small roll of string, because always string, you never know when you may need string.
Interesting survival kit. I did look up the Kendama but feel the effort and time needed is too much at my stage of life. However by fate very recently i did purchase a nice secondhand table tennis bat and ball shortly after seeing this. A very good challenge in itself for solo practice. Thank you for the wisdom and fun Master Ogmios. Flow well. : )
I think a small, orange funnel would be a welcome edition to the boot collection. It would look nice next to the small, orange cone. Thanks for the content 😊
Consider a plastic seat cover. If your clothes get wet or dirty and you don't have a full change if clothing, you can put the seat cover on and save a load of cleaning later. Also plastic surgical gloves for changing a tyre and staying clean.
That sandwich looked good. You should make some vegan food videos. I rematch your old videos all the time, they have really helped get rid of my road rage. Thank you
In autumn time, I add a mushroom book to my vehicle survival and comfort kit. You never know when you might find some interesting fungi. I think the yellow mushroom in the video is an Ochre Brittlegill (Russula ochroleuca). Go well Ogmios.
I also add a nice cushion in the back seat in case I ever need a nap in my car (to use as a pillow) I would love to read what’s written in your zen way code book. Will it get published one day ?
“A towel, it says, is about the most massively useful thing an interstellar hitchhiker can have. Partly it has great practical value. You can wrap it around you for warmth as you bound across the cold moons of Jaglan Beta; you can lie on it on the brilliant marble-sanded beaches of Santraginus V, inhaling the heady sea vapors; you can sleep under it beneath the stars which shine so redly on the desert world of Kakrafoon; use it to sail a miniraft down the slow heavy River Moth; wet it for use in hand-to-hand-combat; wrap it round your head to ward off noxious fumes or avoid the gaze of the Ravenous Bugblatter Beast of Traal (such a mind-boggingly stupid animal, it assumes that if you can't see it, it can't see you); you can wave your towel in emergencies as a distress signal, and of course dry yourself off with it if it still seems to be clean enough.”

Every trip is special, every small item handled with reverence. The antidote to consumerism and the streets of rage.
Im so glad you looked through the hole of your lentil crisp. That was necessary and definitely satisfying.
Yours is a bizarre and wonderful channel, love it. Fantastic to watch something really original ☺️
My must haves in the car: tooth brush, spare glasses, water. Also I have two of those Chinese chime balls in the door pockets. I call them, inertiaphones. They chime nicely if you drive smooth but clunk, if you’re harsh.
I've got say...that's a whole new level of zen driving
just be careful about the water storage container and the sun! keep safe.
In the glovebox? A pinch of zen, an ounce of meditation and some sage advice. Fantastic!
At 5:39 when the music that comes in is the theme song for the meditative cereal podcast The Empty Bowl... 🤯😂 Chefs kiss mate! Love your videos!!
It's not just LSD that provides enlightening trips! There's no such thing as a bad trip with Ogmios!!!
Ajahn, Thank you for the teaching. Live long and prosper Jedi.
Like an automotive preper. Come the apocalypse, Ogmios will still be motoring.

❤ thank for being one of my stress relievers you help me let go for a few minutes .
You know it a good day when ogmios uploads

"Here's some lint roller action for you....mmm" 😅 Love it!
Peace and Zen reflection from a motor Master. A beautiful moment in my day. Thanks as always Ogmios. Maybe a dehumidifying wardrobe pouch secreted away as mine is will keep the freshness within. 👍
I keep a damp trap in our little old Honda jazz - she appreciates it and the windscreen fogs up less on the inside now on these cold, cold mornings

Try adding a few drops of tea tree oil to the vinegar - it will help fight the mold and also smell refreshing.
A masterclass Ogmios in urban survival. Some may need to carry more but you require much less to navigate safely on your journey ☮️
My van survival kit consists of some chicken satay sticks, left over from a Tesco meal deal, that fell between the passenger seat and gear stick, I wouldn't recommend but if you were desperate they might just make the difference
I need to get one of those scrapers to scrape away my worries asap
I too go to Epping Forest to find inner peace through plein air painting.
So calm, so zen, so first.
Relaxing and educational, the mould is taking over my Frank the Focus
Water, oil, baby wipes..... Great video Ogmios
Some kitty litter in a sock on the dashboard can help reduce condensation and a bottle of water is always good to have, wash down those crunchy snack bars.

Nothing more needed. A fabulous array of essentials. 🙏
I had a serious enough crash in one if those corsa's last year, and i swear to this day it saved my life. Can confirm, sunroof was awesome.
I can't wait for the day I'm stuck in traffic and I can reach for my copy of the Zenway code to keep calm ☮️
Reusable cup and cutlery could be added - so you don't have to use disposables.
We've missed you in our household and were delighted to see this pop-up under 'Subscriptions'.
An oasis of calm in a world of chaos!
I have a lot of the same stuff in my car, plus a tyre inflator and some spare bulbs, also insurance and breakdown card.
I’ve an expired senior railcard that is excellent for scrapping ice off windscreens.
Two plastic gloves from petrol stations to cover the wing mirrors on frosty nights.
A length of blue tissue paper also from petrol stations for wiping condensation off the windscreen.

I'm so glad I found your channel, it's very reminiscent of David Firth's early work. I just love this, it tickles my peanut 🥜
Excellent kit list! I keep most of these in my van too, only i have a bonus hob and kettle for making tea and a double bed, just in case! 😅 I had the same ice scraper, it broke scraping ice 🫣
Excellent. And I definitely need some bolts.
Lovely and relaxing. Other than a first aid kit I think you have all bases covered.
Oh so relaxing, I think I almost dosed off there. Thank you so much. Please do more videos the world needs your input. cheers, take care and stay safe.😃👍
Kendama beats my ball in a cup. Nice one Ogmios ✌
It is the evolution of ball and cup! 🙌👍
I like to have a coin in the car for those moments when a trolley might be helpful. And now I mention trolleys, a bag or two to put things in.
You Sir are a Zen Master, Oh Jedi Master. Anjali Mudra Sir. Live long and prosper :) Vulcan Zen greeting :)
Lovely video - thank you Ogmios 🙏🏻❤️ i cannot drive, but am hooked on your videos. Twas great to see your essential kit and great to see you on a beautiful walk in nature 👍🏻
Look around the air intake for the heating. A blocked drain hole might be the cause of the leak.🖖

Mechanic friend told me it’s a weak spot on corsas.
The one thing I would probably add was the Tao Te Ching for when you're stuck in gridlock. 🤲
Thank you guru, I needed and learned from that.
Peace be with you my friend

A 7amp 4 way cigarette USB charger and a brolly. I have these and they rock.
One of the ports is a 3.0 and will charge a laptop.
An Ogmios vid is always a welcome thing, keep er lit brother.
The black uniball is the go to stylus for me as well. Although for much less significant scriptures than the zenway code. 🙏
Thanks Ogmios. 12.5 minutes of zen bliss! I matched you on a few items including gaffa tape and an A to Z even though I drive in London about once every two years these days. Squeaky mushrooms--? Amazing !
Check you out with the black, the finest colour of all the gaffer tapes.🖤
I feel so much calmer now 👌

Maybe add to your survival kit a silver or gold coin! ... For purchasing power or opening doors.
I think a small, orange funnel would be a welcome edition to the boot collection. It would look nice next to the small, orange cone.
Thanks for the content 😊
was waiting for this one hahahahahaha
Never change Igmios
Brilliant thanks bud

Awesome - new content! 👌
What, no travel rug?
Yeah bro, I'd be keen on a copy of The Zenway Code 👋
A Swiss army knife, first aid kit, bottle of water and rope in case your car needs towing are all I can think of right now. Peace
hype for the lint roller video!
Brilliant....keep them coming 🤣😁
Pen knife and a plastic bag. For cutting and carrying respectively (and respectfully 🙏).
You may need a shopping trolley to move large animal carcasses from your vehicle to your shop...
Nice one Ogmios 👍
power bank and jump leads ....YES
Oh fer Gads sake Ogmios (class!).........add a motor cycle though and ride safe! 🛵💪😃
Epic beard. Epic video. 🙏
The personalized number plate :)
Lovely in every way 😊
love you og' I would definitely throw in a swiss knife, mCGuyver style =)
Lovely. How about a biro for writing last-minute birthday cards in the car outside the party venue?
Add Snickers, my young Padewan. And a sleeping bag :)
Some of the squirrels look like nutters
Expanding the brand. I love it!
A scraper, to scrape away your worries
I also add a nice cushion in the back seat in case I ever need a nap in my car (to use as a pillow)
I would love to read what’s written in your zen way code book. Will it get published one day ?
Cat litter in a lidded box punched with holes help with the damp

this comment, my hero 😂
Think I saw my dad in the background in the woods, pot hole man. 🕳 🧍♂️
Another warm and reassuring video. Thank you. Is this a new car for you?
Scraper!
Thanx😁
Yes man like Ogmios is back! Got any footage of the battle with Animus?!
It’s on here somewhere. I’m sure I’ve seen it!
BBC I player zen motoring ep 6
I had to close the sunroof... Boa i wish i hade one😂😂😂😂
I'd add spare trousers, for the "oh snap" late Prius moves.
So tell me about the purpose of felt dashboard ..
