      How about high in the Spanish mountains in an isolated farmhouse with thick stone walls outside and a few stone inside walls, the rest covered in the traditional white plaster, where the previous owner of the house died in the room I sleep in?

    Richard , my parents old house was previously a inn that Dick Turpin used to stay at . House was very haunted as mum did research after activity in the house , and found out that a girl was murdered who worked in the inn , in the lobby bathroom . Mum and dad had to get ppl into the house to help get rid of what was there

    If ghosts are just in peoples heads, how is it that sometimes more than one person sees the same ghost at the same time? Also, cctv cameras and modern phones don't just decide to see a ghost as they don't 'just have a vivid imagination'. Ghosts or spirits if one prefers are very 'real', they don't all go around rattling chains and wailing.

    Why was that bloke covered in tar to preserve him, then taken up the hill to rot? Tar not very good at preserving bodies then!

    • @julesobrien7255
      @julesobrien7255 17 днів тому +1

      To make sure that the bodies remained intact for as long as possible, the corpses were coated with tar. The tar may also have stopped birds pecking the flesh. Once coated with tar, the body was fitted into a specially made harness of iron hoops and chains that held the head, body, and legs in place. This was known as a gibbet. The tar was to preserve the body for as long as possible before it eventually rotted.

    There is a gibbet area mentioned in history that they could see from afar them swinging up on the hill. gibbethill on the 1879 map and a union workhouse listed in mount pleasant, swansea,south Wales, and a lady who was ill night before went to a picnic 1900 approx maybe 1911and went to the mumbles pier picnic but died about 76 as soon as she sat down,so her ghost haunts the pier as an old lady oddly dressed in old clothes seen by chap early nineties walking the pier then dissappear in front of his very eyes😮fascinating these accounts.

    "Murderers and politicians are buried here" ... not that there is much difference between the two... Highgate Cemetery is known to be badly haunted. Given the hellhounds that are buried there, it's hardly surprising...
    I wonder why you didn't go to Lichfield in Staffordshire in the search of ghosts. The whole city is as haunted as can be. From Roman armies to cavaliers from the English Civil War, Prince Rupert and Victorian children - we got it all here.

    What I want to say to you with people it's mind-blowing and the reason I'm saying that is because my wife and her sister are twins she goes out with someone whose parents have passed away and even though they have moved from Wisbech which is in Peterborough area to Peterborough itself narang again battery lights turn themselves on at certain times at night apparently but the reason I say about a smell if I be honest I have smelled it once and this smell was perfume which my wife or a sister was not wearing and my wife is smell perfume and cigarette smoke on numerous occasions and no none of us smoke I just can't explain it mind blowing
