Zoe love that you called the "outsourced to an automated layer" for cloud computing
    please keep posting tutorials videos

Absolute clarity, it removes perceived over commitment of resources. Thanks for this Owen.

Can you provide any practical example where virtualization is used ?

How easy to use are these APIs that replace sysadmins and the typical virtualization stack? Do you have to typically hire a team of developers to figure out these APIs and how to bolt things together, or is that something that goes on behind the scenes "in the cloud"? Thanks.

      Scott Gillespie Greetings,
This all depends on exactly what you are attempting to solve for. You have command line utilities that run the visualization actions. You have API calls that simplify and batch those commands. Then you have interfaces/portals that further simplify use of the API calls and make semi-automated (batched) actions. Not all of those are 100% in absence of requiring human interaction; they simply reduce the touch complexity.
The API calls themselves could still be initiated by a person via command line, for individual actions. One may also add these calls to script automation and applications that your solution runs. Then, one may take it a step further to completely automate their needs by developing triggers for certain events.
For deploying servers, deploying files containers, adding networks, etc, you could use our Cloud Panel UI to run many of these tasks for you. All of those actions happen, as you put it "behind the scenes." If you wish to take things a step further for your needs, hiring developers to build your solution would certainly be helpful. We have a fairly in-depth API documentation knowledge base that will guide you on your way. The Knowledge Center structure was recently updated, so I waiting on an update to the instruction page that tells you how to access the API docs. In the mean time, here is that link for Clioud Servers specifically. I will update when it is updated. www.rackspace.com/knowledge_center/article/cloud-servers-api-documentation
This is the main Knowledge Center: www.rackspace.com/knowledge_center/
Search through there for all the API docs related to each solution.
