Showreel (2019) 5K | Director, Cinematographer, Editor | David Daniel Pierce

This video is a brief demonstration of my work as a director, cinematographer and editor.
Wow. It sure has been a journey.
What’s funny is that I have never loved video. And that’s still true to this day. What I love is the capacity for emotion through video.
I love the feelings.
Words and sounds and images, everything coming together and making something so much more powerful than the sum of its parts. That’s what I love.
It’s like experiencing everything.
When I was 5 years old, my teacher asked our class what we’d like to be when we grew up. That silly question we all get at some point.
I remember so vividly how eager all my classmates were, shouting things like “doctor, fireman, musician.” I thought ‘I don’t want to do any of those things-I want to do all of them.’
And that’s exactly what I’ve gotten out of this journey.
