The Muses were more of a Greek Chorus. In the movie the were played by black women so the gospel sound was part of the Disney Hercules movie.
Yes Hades had the blue flamed hair.
These guys are not a group. Michael Korte puts together groups of singer for his video ideas. You should check out the new one #Wicked4Whitney, #GaGA4RENT, #Ham4Bey,
and other mixes and mash up videos.
The Muses were definitely gospel influenced!!!!!
Hercules is one of my favorites. Brilliant music, lovable characters, a funny yet still sinister villain, and Danny Devito in a major supporting role! What more could you want? And to answer your question yes! It’s heavily gospel influenced you should for sure give it a watch!
I would say that the Muses are less like the fates in Hadestown, and more like Hermes. They act mainly as narrators throughout the film, but also interact with the characters and help to move the plot along in a non-intefering way (its been a long time since I've seen the movie though, but it's great, albeit very inaccurate to the original mythology)
i know Im asking randomly but does anyone know a tool to log back into an instagram account?
I somehow lost the account password. I would appreciate any tricks you can give me

@Creed Brooks no problem :D
Yes, the muses from the Disney Hercules was heavily influenced by gospel music 🎶 and Hades had the blue flaming hair in the movie 🎥
Little late to the party here, but you might enjoy watching some of the reactions to this performance by people who've been raised in the Gospel choral traditions - the energy is contagious in a way that I (as someone used to low-temperature Anglican choral music) was just Not Ready For.
Yes indeed the music that the muses were singing had a gospel influence I remember when I was working at the Disney Store and a lady came in and she said that she didn't care for Hercules and I said why that's one of my favorite she civil I didn't care for the newfangled music that they were trying in the movie and I told her being black myself I knew that type of music had been around for hundreds of years and then she told me if if this explained it all well I've never heard it I could just shake my head
the blue flame you remember is definitely the character design for Hades: his hair was blue fire and made for some excellent comedy.
as far as the music from the actual movie is concerned: it’s super enjoyable but nothing like this medley. it’s honestly a little bit underwhelming to go back to the original music after watching this medley, but that doesn’t mean it’s not still good!!
there’s a lot of people out there trying to petition for Lizzo to be a muse if Disney ever makes a live-action Hercules, and that would be great, but these fellas DESERVE it
The music was mostly delivered by a female quintet (the muses). There is a very strong gospel flavor to all of their music. They provided a neat way of doing exposition. Hercules' song was more standard Disney, I Will Go The Distance.
Two months ago??? We time traveling out here?
The original Hercules was gospel because the directors (who also did The Lion King) told Alan Menken (who did Little Shop of Horrors but also The Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast) they wanted that music genre. But this video added even more vocal riffs than the Disney film had.
