Reading a lot of comments praising deuce… Personally, I’m a huge McBride fan, but if he is what it take to land Kessler(or another legit C) you have to seriously consider it. Kessler is looking at 24 minutes per and probably making 30 starts backing up/sharing time with Mitch. McBride maybe gets 10-12 minutes as the 3rd backup PG and 3rd backup SG.
I understand all Knick fans are excited about this roster but, lets keep things in perspective. I would give up Toppin and the young Center we have if I have to do so. Trading Precious would be tragic because if Julius isnt available....we're in trouble again.
@@eddiekerr638you dumb to mention it’s crazy to trade deuce. There’s a logjam at pg-Payne, Kolek, Ragu, Brunson and even Josh Hart can bring ball up like he did in playoffs. So you dumb not to see big picture! Why would you stunt McBrides success? He will never get starter minutes or big contract playing behind Brunson and other pg’s right behind him. Similar to IQ and now IQ is a starter and got his $ up north! McBride for Kessler is NEEdED! Back up big is way more important than McBride now! Besides McBride cannot facilitate on offense. Great player -great 3 pt threat and defense but cannot run a smooth offense like Brunson or IQ
Evn as a backup I think Deuce is a much better player than Kessler. It's also a red fal to me that a team in rebuild mode, like the Jazz, want to rid themsevles of a 22yr old center making almost no money
The NYK should keep McBride and Robinson because they both have earned the right to see what the NYK are capable of this coming season with a healthy team - Randell, Brunson, Hart, Robinson, OG all healed up from injury. In your first trade package of Precious Achiuwa with all those picks - he may need to be the sacrificial lamb, but even PA earned the right to see what this NYK team may do this season. Nobody expected him to be as good as he had shown since he was a throw-in on the OG trade from Toronto. But he certainly exceeded expectations. While I understand the NBA is a business, it would be nice for team officials to show a little loyalty dividend to those that earned their spot on the team in the right way as these guys have. So, begrudgingly, I would pull the trigger on your first package with PA. NOT the 2nd with McBride.
Precious deserves his flowers, but at the end of the day if the Knicks want more of a true center than Precious who's more of a tweener at the 4 or 5. He's probably the guy to go. Fair to wanna keep Deuce, I don't want them to trade him at all, just going over moves they can do, and how the Deuce one has an argument to making some more sense
Why do you keep mentioning Deuce? The team said he’s staying. That’s not an option. If any guard would go, especially since they have both Colin Sexton and Keyonte George, the guy would be Kolek. Not Deuce. But yall keep protecting the golden boy that can’t guard but can pass.
I think its never to think they won't trade Mcbride and I do think Mcbride stays but we need a true back up center that can eventually start. So who really knows many players in the past were supposedly not going anywhere and have been moved at the end of it all money talks
@@grindhousesports my only caveat with that is they wouldn’t have signed him literally the day after trading for OG if that were the case. That's fair. I don't love the idea of trading Deuce at all, more something that I believe they will consider doing if need be. Depends on Mitch's health. I'd also like a stretch big tbh, it gives you way more rotational options
According to Fred Katz, the Knicks plan for Deuce to be in the 9 man rotation, probably as the 8th man. Mitch will (I'm guessing) play around 26 minutes, with Precious at around 12-14, and Randle playing the 5 the rest of the time until a trade happens
