Love this video! Watched several but this one is perfect and I have everything I need including a machete I got from Africa & an agave I cut down in Sedona. Thanks so much!
Thanks for this DIY Glen Horn. I have made a few but did not use the right product for the inside or outside for that matter. It sure helps when someone like yourself shares this knowledge.
Hi Glen and Roberta! I loved your vids! I've been making agave didges for years, but the surfboard techniques are awesome! I will start doing this. Thanks for your generosity in sharing your knowledge. Your honesty and integrity in living the life you love is very inspiring.
Great vids Glen. I do almost the same thing as you. I use a fiberglass epoxy that sets up too quickly to pour and roll. The idea of using hole saws to clean out the inside is something Im going to use. Thanks for the vids.
Outstanding, looks like a great locale and some happiness where you are posted up and setup shop at...Epic...Could you reference that cutting bit. I have found some similar but just curious great video and stepping into my 1st didj...Thank You both...
If you come to Baja Mexico and start from El Rosario down they are all over the place. Have fun and good luck and I know it is a long ways away from where you are.
You can also tie a joshua tree needle to a stick and it makes a sharp Icee spoon shaped scoop like a woodpecker beak, and you keep poking inside til you get a hole all the way through, then you widen it, so you dont have to cut and use glue or ties...
Hi Glen!- HELP!! I just finished my first AGAVE didge and I think I failed epically by a costly mistake using over powered grinding tool, not paying attention to my depth. In short -I removed too much of the inner pulp all the way up to the mouth piece, so there is NO 1 -1/4 bore tube to the 32 inch mark..I literally took out all the pulp from the bell up to the mouth down to the hard wood roughly leaving a consistent and even 1/4 inch thick edge from the mouth end to 1/2 inch thick a the mouth of the bell which is almost 9 inches wide.. My inner diameter at the mouth (without mouth piece)is 2 inches and gradually expands out to 9 inches at the bell end. So the whole inside is way wider from the mouth to the bell. I made a 3 inch long, 2 inch inner diameter, 1-1/2 diameter hole mouthpiece made of Mesquite wood. It looks fantastic..but... When all sealed , glued and finished, I tried to play it for the first time. (not a beginner player)..It literally sucked the air out of my mouth and I cannot sustain a drone. This is a remarkable Agave 87 Inches long and a perfect bell..I am devastated that I may have ruined such a fantastic plant. Question- Can the zero back pressure issue be fixed somehow? Would a much longer mouthpiece with a smaller- consistent clean bore hole of 1-1/4 inches solve some of the problem with the back pressure? or an even Longer mouthpiece? Thank you for any advice you can offer. -Roy
to make the splitting easier you could use a chalk box instead of fussing around with tape. i dont think it would stain, but if it did they have some color choices available.
I've been told it is possible to collect agave from places in New Mexico, like the Gila National Forest, but you need to get permits to collect the stalks.
I'm so sad someone stole my very first and only didge I made from agave and where I live in Salem Oregon it's not easy to come by if someone knows where I could buy another spike to make a new one that'd be awesome only been playing a few months and I just got circular breathing down last week then poof my didge is gone
+Fusion “JAMM Fusion de Vientos” de vientos sorry been in mexico. just go beyond el rosario and they are everywhere just take your pick good luck and have fun

Hi, make sure you drag the hole saw otherwise it will bite and you will lose control. It will take a chunk out of your didj. Good luck.

Heard about something photographers call 'focus'? Thought not!

Hi, I started using a machete and a sledge hammer which makes it split perfect, with no seam at all. But thanks for the input.

It's an AGAVE spike not an Agvae. Having said that he's made a great looking didge.

Thats not a didgeridoo. . .
Not even how they are traditionally made.. not a real didgeridoo
