Good morning from Texas, USA. You are right, there is a huge amount of tourists. I get nervous around that many people. And I am not even there. Have a great day. Love and respect from America.
Asking for permission is important. As the gentleman walked away he said 'thank you.' Nice interaction between man, horse and guard! One of the Guards had his right foot out of the stirrup. Rein grabbers are to be expected, they seemed to turn up in a bunch. Then usually when the reins are grabbed back, they look at the Guard, absolutely horrified they have been corrected. Rude! Long day.
I'm amazed at the patience and prowess of both horse and the guards. They have the patience of saints. Much respect to all the guardsmen and women and their absolutely stunning horses
I just wish these people would give the trouper on foot guard the space they need when marching through, they are on duty it’s not a Comedy Show just for them . Very Disrespectful
Please, please, please…allow the guards to shout again at these ignorant tourists who disrespect the guards and these horses! These are adults who would only respond to a shouting!!!

On the other hand, the person with the camera, often several feet away from his subject, expects the whole world to come to a stop while he takes his photo! Why should they stop for you?
The 6 people that touched the reins should be the ones that a horse bites, in my opinion. Those are military horses just as the military has dogs. Would these same people be foolish enough to touch the leash on a military dog? Great video thanks.

@kathellison8084 they are such wonderful companions, and mine was also very large at 140 lbs or 63.503 kilos and was also my service dog. Mine was friendly in most instances but were someone to quickly approach me, she would become protective of my space. We lived in the country where I rehabilitated wildlife and she would sit outside with me while wild deer and turkey would graze and dirt bathe within a couple of feet from us but if a stray dog would come on the land, she'd chase them off. Saw the time they put gates around the front of the horses where the public could not get near the horses. You could see how relaxed the horses were . If not a permanent thing, then it should be. Too many nuts make horses skitched.
In these videos you only see what happens between 11:00 and 4:00 pm. Horse Guards is on Whitehall which is the centre of British government and a major traffic artery to Trafalgar Square. The Prime Minister's office and residence is just down the road, and there are many other govt. departments on , or just off, Whitehall. It would be impracticable to close one side of the street to pedestrian traffic.
Well done our service people & horses. Sometimes our tourist friends do not understand the seriousness of military command, let’s not be too hard nor judgemental of them. Our King’s Guards (Servicemen & horses) do a sterling job, no wonder tourists flock to see them! Lovely work boys, JaneR

How silly people believe their’s _DOES_ is beyond my comprehension! And this may mean nothing, but I’ve yet to see a toddler to 4-5 years old _never_ looks happy, so why do parents put them through it?? Oh! Yes!! I forgot! Personal vanity again rears it’s ugly head!

I love your vids! I know I'll never get across the pond to see these awesome guards in person, so thank you. I'm utterly appalled at te ignorance, stupidity and gaul most of the tourists display towards both Guard and Horse when they deserve the deepest respect. Too bad they have to ruin the experience for others.
A los animales también hay que darles su espacio. Tantas personas acechandolos y sofocando los con tanta tocadera, se mantendrán estresados y de mal genio. Por eso muerden y se vuelven agresivos. Que trabajo tan duro el de esos jinetes. Felicitaciones.
But they should know no matter what language they speak that horses kick and bite sometimes and that taking the reins is taking the control away from the soldier. Seeing a sign with large print next to them should be a warning.
@@nukasnook1561 Not everyone knows something about horses. Some people have never seen a horse in real life. This may seem odd to you but not everyone has the same life experiences you have. People see the horses standing still while having their nose stroked, if they don’t know about horses they have no reason to think that’s not how they normally behave. Re the sign, it’s a black sign with gold writing, there’s nothing about it to indicate it’s giving a warning.
@shirleyanneyoung955 I know nothing about horses either, other than the obvious, i.e., they have teeth and are controlled by reins and the way the horse and the rider are reacting when frustrated. But I do know that if I went to a foreign country and let's choose North Korea for arguments sake ... and I saw a sign in Korean that was capitalized. I would find out what it said. But, you are right. Not everyone will think to do that ... but manners don't belong to just English speaking countries. They visit the palace to see the history and pomp and ceremony. I'd never interfere with it, and it's not even my country. Might I add, please, that people's general lack of knowledge about horses is precisely why there is a sign! If a tourist, out-of ignorance, willfully or through lack of English skills, gets hurt by getting too close, who is responsible? Not the palace. They have warned the public. Then, the poor guy on the horse will feel bad. Enuf said.
@@nukasnook1561 What’s obvious to you isn’t necessarily obvious to everyone though. Signs which give warnings should stand out, these signs do not stand out in any way.
Watched your friends channel earlier as it popped in my timeliness and you had a quick cameo on it I only knew by your voice as you were talking to the camera as he past you its good to put a face to the voice I must admit I love the information you give on your channel and your humour is great
Never ever understand how people Can grab the reins. Or even clap the horse. Perhaps people as tourists detatch the brain. Even a sign they most likely never see. Be polite and respectfull. Help people when you Can and - and keep your sticky fingers in the pockets.
Hi LCW I believe I saw Arnie the other day. Not sure who filmed the arrival of the young Captain who rode in from the front. But I am 99.9% sure his steed was our Arnie. He had the exact same markings black with just a splash of white on his rear left hoof. Seems Arnie got promoted to Captains horse.
YES ! Arnie was in a video I watched last night, and she is a beautiful lady for sure! The video was of her and Ormonde. If I can find it I'll send you the link if you like
Maybe there should be a sign on Both Sides. Or maybe a picture showing a zero with a line through it over the reins. But then there'd have to be a picture on the soldier's boots, horse's nose, etc. It's easier to just stop allowing access to them at all.
Why is it in todays World we do still have some many people of all ages that can not read a simply sign asking to please do not touch the Reins . God this makes me so mad and how the Guards tolerate this for the Horses sake i will never know. They are Guarding and Protecting what part if this dont we as humans understand. It is always such a very beautuiful display spoilt by so few for so many.
I wonder if it would be possible to put up signs with pictures of the rules, especially since there are many foreigners who may not read English? It would at least cut the excuses a person could use.

I miss the shouting too, but when I hear it, I'm sure to sit up in my chair like a proper old duck.
@@kathycarruthers5266 Why don’t they allow it anymore?
Why do the troopers give their horses a resounding slap when they dismount? Such good videos! I really enjoy your commentary John x
Saw the time they put gates around the front of the horses where the public could not get near the horses. You could see how relaxed the horses were . If not a permanent thing, then it should be. Too many nuts make horses skitched.
Totally agree
In these videos you only see what happens between 11:00 and 4:00 pm. Horse Guards is on Whitehall which is the centre of British government and a major traffic artery to Trafalgar Square. The Prime Minister's office and residence is just down the road, and there are many other govt. departments on , or just off, Whitehall. It would be impracticable to close one side of the street to pedestrian traffic.
Is it really necessary to do the two finger sign when they have their picture taken?
The King's Guards are too tolerant of the tourists/terrorists and mild with their reactions/responses.
Miss you John..take care.you are wonderful kind man..❤
Well done our service people & horses. Sometimes our tourist friends do not understand the seriousness of military command, let’s not be too hard nor judgemental of them.
Our King’s Guards (Servicemen & horses) do a sterling job, no wonder tourists flock to see them!
Lovely work boys,

Love the commentary!!
So many Chinese with stupid V signs.🤬…Just seen a baby do one. ✌️I’ve noticed most of them don’t even look at the horse, and guard…The stupidity is off the scale✌️🤙
The v sign is the bottom part of a heart. It means "love" or "I love you"
I'm from the 60s and 70s
I'm from the 60s and 70s Vietnam what's going on the In USA that met ✌️ peace so when these people do it seems disrespectful
Makes me wonder why there isn't a sign, both sides of the King's Guard, so many people who have little respect..
It wouldn’t matter how many signs there were, not every foreigner can read English.
I cannot think of a touristy photo of me in front of really astoundingly beautiful monuments, buildings, or even resplendent Horse Guards and their fabulous horses would be *_AT ALL_* improved by my mere presence.
La gente no la acabo de entender. Las riendas de los caballos no se tocan, pues se puede desbocar el caballo y causar sin querer algún daño
Hi john loving these videos..❤..are you still doing lives on tik tok, i really like the interaction with others in the group and ur good self... Will always be able to watch these on youtube, especially after sleep from night shift, ❤.
LIVEs are occasional as opposed to frequent as the quality of these videos is far superior to those of a TikTok 'LIVE'.
Ich teile Ihre Ausführungen.👍😊
I love love love those horses!❤❤❤❤
I used to give my horse polos everyday, he expected them❤
These tourists are so self-absorb with themselves they don’t bother to follow rules… they don’t seem to care the guards are on duty ! 🤦🏼♀️
Not all foreigners can read English.
There’s a douche bag in every crowd. In this crowd there’s several.
Unbelievable 😮
A los animales también hay que darles su espacio. Tantas personas acechandolos y sofocando los con tanta tocadera, se mantendrán estresados y de mal genio. Por eso muerden y se vuelven agresivos. Que trabajo tan duro el de esos jinetes. Felicitaciones.
Reading the sign and following the information is another thing
Not all foreigners can read English.
Sign (that used to be for Victory, ) fur coat and sunglasses, how lovely !!
WHAT'S with the silly 2 finger salute for photos??!! Mostly Asian routine 🤷♀️
I've often wondered that myself 😂
Watched your friends channel earlier as it popped in my timeliness and you had a quick cameo on it I only knew by your voice as you were talking to the camera as he past you its good to put a face to the voice I must admit I love the information you give on your channel and your humour is great
Why don’t they read the signs
Maybe because they’re unable to read English.
Why do they not put pictograms, it is pretentious to think that every tourists can read english
Why does everyone think giving the peace sign is cool?
Never ever understand how people Can grab the reins. Or even clap the horse. Perhaps people as tourists detatch the brain. Even a sign they most likely never see. Be polite and respectfull. Help people when you Can and - and keep your sticky fingers in the pockets.
The tourists are allowed to touch the horses.
Hi Mt London walks video man you were very quiet until now thank you for going back to normal👍😊👍 NZ.
Brilliant video!!🎼❤️🎼
Hi LCW I believe I saw Arnie the other day. Not sure who filmed the arrival of the young Captain who rode in from the front. But I am 99.9% sure his steed was our Arnie. He had the exact same markings black with just a splash of white on his rear left hoof. Seems Arnie got promoted to Captains horse.
YES ! Arnie was in a video I watched last night, and she is a beautiful lady for sure! The video was of her and Ormonde. If I can find it I'll send you the link if you like
Watch the horses ears. Ears go back flat on their head means leave them alone.
Maybe there should be a sign on Both Sides. Or maybe a picture showing a zero with a line through it over the reins. But then there'd have to be a picture on the soldier's boots, horse's nose, etc. It's easier to just stop allowing access to them at all.
Good video!
Have some common sense. Not all foreign tourists can read English.
@@shirleyanneyoung955Phones can be used to translate the posted warning.
Why do people take so long to take a picture? Ridiculous.
I wonder if it would be possible to put up signs with pictures of the rules, especially since there are many foreigners who may not read English? It would at least cut the excuses a person could use.
My son is active duty military in the marine ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Great videos. Enjoying from American, Thanks 👍
