Really hope they end up releasing a rarities album. Some of the rare and unreleased songs deserve to see the light of day. This may be one of the best songs of theirs
Who the fuck didn't Green light this for the album??? This is easily one of the best songs of theirs I've ever heard. The heavy mood, the insane vocals. Just how?!
I was watching a video by Rick Beato on it, and he said it was the FIRST song they wrote for this album and generally labels don’t take the first few songs you write as seriously as the ones you write later in the process. So they decided not to use it.
@@agitatedaligator5340 ua-cam.com/video/zUDNHi_uySY/v-deo.html idk how far into the video he says it but pretty sure it was near the beginning. It’s a great video taking about how he goes about making these demos and uses this song as an example!
I can't see that Shinedown has songs that they never want released to radio on all albums. All songs that are explicit, they won't release as a single. They have at least 20 or more songs from each album that they didn't release they are in the vault.
Man, I love finding unreleased songs. It's the same feeling I get when I find a Linkin Park Underground Album at a friend's house; music by popular bands you like that are rarely heard.

"this world is not so black and white". That part is from the demo for Trade Yourself In. That's REALLY different from what happened on the record. This was so good to hear.
They have so many unreleased songs from every album. They record 20 to 30 songs & pick what goes on the album the rest go in what they call the vault. Hope they release them while Brent is alive. I'm sure they will release everything after he is gone but that is always sad.

@@daydreamersdmmiller3064 They were not "compromised" back in the earlier days. That's what made them stand out/special. @@Lisa-mw5ve I did not say anything about Shinedown being "compromised." It’s hard to call it a cover when Brent and Rick wrote the song in Rick’s studio... They may have let One Less Reason have it later on, but it was written to be on Shinedown’s 3rd album.
Apparently there were issues with One Less Reason stealing vocal tracks and demos is what Zach said. He said about suing them but I don't think Brent ever pursued the matter I never heard anything.
So I have a few questions hopefully you can answer. I was wondering who's on guitar in this session? What amp head and mic's they were using if you know anything about the signal chain that would be great! Thanks.
I’m unsure of the equipment used, but my guy Rick Beato has a UA-cam channel and would be able to address these if he hasn’t already in one of his videos.

Right
The record wanted things that sound more like Alice in chains compared to this.
How did this not make an album!!!!
Someone in the comments said that it probably didn't have any radio appeal so the label took it off the album. Something along those lines

unofficial lyrics:
You know it starts with a look
And then it ends with a lie
I should plant my seeds deep
So then my roots won't die
Do you wish I was more like you
Self centered with no point of view
I need to give my self pride again
Take time to mend my feelings
Cause they never change
They always stay the same
I just can't blame it on my pride again
Take time again to mend my feelings
And Ill never change ill always be the same
Sometimes it seems like I'm closer
To maybe feeling alive
Some days I wish it was over
And thats when I stare in your eyes
Do you wish I was more like you
Self centered with no point of view
I need to give myself pride again
Take time to mend my feelings
Cause they never change
They always stay the same
I just can't blame it on my pride again
The time I spent believing
And ill never change
Ill always be the same
In this world
Its not so black and white
But its made out to be
Fateful but the design is to deceive
And know how they deceive
And we have our rights and wrongs
So don't pass judgment on me
Its your list but its just as long
If you dig deep yourself
I need to give myself pride again
Take time to mend my feelings
Cause they never change
They always stay the same
I just can't blame it on pride again
The time I spent believing
And ill never change
Ill always be the same
And ill never change
Ill always be the same

Can you feel me
I know you need me
