I bought my 02 CR 250 here in Ocala FL for 2500 buck's six months ago and love it. Great bike let's not forget Ricky Carmichael went undefeated on his 02.

These four-stroke riders aren't used to actually having to shift, they're used to riding around the track on their 450 and only using two gears! "Having to downshift two gears before corners" is normal on a two-stroke!
Absolutely correct, As being a 43 yr old rider I love being lazy on the bike and just rolling on the power on my 450. I still love smelling and hear a good old 2 stroker ringing it out though.

Nice brotha! Take extra great care that machine. Try be proactive in having extra sets of plastic / various parts. Top end kits (wiseco/honda etc)... handlebars/bolts etc Gonna get harder as yrs fly by. Love them CR250Rs we have 3 ...also just a nice all around collection of only dirtbikes & quads (I cherish em.. my son & I) plus near pro- level private track....here in beautiful central (Grand Rapids area) Michigan. Had an 03' Cr250 ....It had a strange low-mid transition kind of like a strong 125 that didn't come on until the upper mid...Had it ported/more compression and it only helped a little bit...Heard it was either case reed design and/or electronic power valve...Definitely a weird 250 power band. Awesome ergos...Front end push on corner entry but handled good everywhere else.....Missed the 90's Honda motors...They were so good.
I’ve spoken to mark many times regarding this bike and other posts throughout all the CR250R build groups on Facebook. These 3rd gen CR250R’s are weapons. They have won the most titles on any bike to date even though they stopped making them in 07’ 13 years ago. I couldn’t see how much power the 2020 KTM two strokes make but the 02’ CR motor puts out 59hp and that’s the worst year motor they made, the yz pushes out 48hp. I don’t see the KTM making more. Furthermore these test rider’s are lazy four strokes riders, imagine complaining about shifting too much and blaming the suspension for their arm pump, wow.
@@exploringlifefam3274 I've owned a 06 and still have my 07 cr250r. Complete buckets of shit from factory compared to any other bike at the time. Head mod, some port work, carb swap and you've got yourself a very fast bike.
Depends on how much they bought the bike for, but what they did to it probably adds up to about somewhere near $14,000 for the aftermarket parts and a premium factory dudes touch

Riders today want the perfect bike. If their hands, foot, or butt hurts their blaming the bike or not taking blame for inability to ride the bike. All bike are quirky and different. If your looking for comfort buy a recliner.

Kaplan america just dynoed a worked cr500 and I'm pretty sure it put out 59 at the wheel.
There’s absolutely no way the cr250 put out 59 horsepower and 02-07 made more horsepower than the 01 it was just all concentrated in the midrange

2002 was the (gross) start of the RC power valve.
The 02 to 04 was a dog the 05-07 is a better bike way better hit on power I my self prefer the 05 up over the 01
