You would obviously give away innumerable gifts and leaves when you have investors money with you. But I think that's a very short term view of business. In long run these unnecessary costs will bite you back.
What about Amazon, Google, Facebook? They had losses for a while before making profit. Just because he is giving these gifts and leaves doesn't mean it will be the case forever.
