Sakhi ik, sapno dekhyo rat
(Shri Radha Rani confiding in a close friend) Sakhi,I had a dream last night.)
Vanshi vat tat-taruni-tanuja, haum ikali rahi jat
(In my dream I was walking by myself along the shore of the Yamuna.)
Aucak lakhyom ek taham dhota, sumdar syamal gat
(Suddenly I saw a dark and extremely attractive boy.)
Piyaro pat, kati kachani kache, mor mukut bal khat
(He was dressed in yellow. He had a scarf tied around his waist and a peacock-plumed crown was swaying gently on his head.)
Kar murali, gal gunjmal bhal, gati som hams lajat
(In his hands was a flute and around his neck was a garland made of 'gunj' flowers. His gait was more graceful than that of a swan.)
Ati ras bhare nain ratanare, kajarare madamat
( His intoxicating, naturally-black eyes were filled with the nectar of love.)
Kati kimkini, pag payal sohat, mana mohat musakat
(He was wearing a waist-chain and anklets. His smile was extremely attractive.)
Kaham laum kah sakhi rup-madhuri, koti kam sakucat
(What can I say, Sakhi? The combined beauty of countless Kamdev seems dull before his beauty.)
Lakhatahim haum sakhi bhai bas take, bari buri yah bat
( Merely a glance of his made me his slave, which is very shameful indeed.)
Yah 'Kripalu' kachu bhed alaukik, jag na hota asa nat
( Says Shri Kripalu, "There is surely some divine secret behind all of this, for in the material world no one falls in love with another in a dream.")
