My country is very rich of pure nature. Taimen is king of the river fish. You can see this fish wild into the nature. Importent is take permits.

Pretty nice video and a tour but keep in mind guys, boat fishing is actually illegal in Mongolia. You can park your boat and fish from the banks but not actually from the boat. Good luck ;)

Weird looking pike! If it is a northern pike it must be a variation of the kind found in the US and Canada. I'm curious - how did they get the drift boats to Mongolia? Cargo plane or by sea and then truck?

+Matt Troutman its an amur pike, took this from wikipedia.. The Amur pike, also known as the blackspotted pike, (Esox reichertii) is a pike native to the Amur River system in east Asia, as well as freshwater habitat on the island of Sakhalin.[2] Closely related to the northern pike, it reaches a length of 115 cm (45 inches), sporting a silvery body with small, black spots. Like other pike, this species is prized for sport fishing.
It is not generally found outside its native range. However, it was introduced to Glendale Lake, Cambria County, Pennsylvania, by the Pennsylvania Fish Commission in 1968, just underneath the range of the northern pike. As a result, these two species do not cross often. Pure Amur pike were last spawned in 1971. All of the Pennsylvania Fish Commission's brood stock was lost in the summer of 1976.
regarding the drift boats, they have been operating in mongolia since 1993, i assume they were shipped in shipping containers and then transported via rail or truck to mongolia..

Paul Anderson Hello Paul, Thanks for the info on the amur pike. Very interesting since except for the black spotting patterns they look just like the pike I am more familiar with in the eastern United States. I also live in PA but did not move here until 1984. It would be interesting to learn of the attempt by PFBC was successful and did the amur pike take off in that lake. Those trout (I forget were they taimen?) were quite long but on the thin side and didn't seem to fight all that well. Just an observation from the video. Most brown trout I've caught over 22" really start to put on girth and depth and fight very well. As far as I destination to go fly fishing it wouldn't be on my bucket list. I'd rather fish the Kamchatka peninsula for big rainbows, dollies, and silver salmon. Then a trip to the south island of NZ, followed by a trip to Chile, maybe then a trip to the Bukley in BC for gian steelhead and then up to the Kodiak Island in Alaska. Oh yeah I don't want to forget the trip to the Seychelles for giant bonefish!

+Paul Anderson And here I thought it was some sort of Muskellunge. That was some awesome info. Pike are astounding fishes just like Trout/salmonids.
