I just did this on my 2002 300exc. All the way out opened to early, and gap between higher rpm power. Needed to be turned in a few times to sink the two power hits. F'n awesome now for open fields n mud, like a real beast! I do like the green spring almost all the way out for woods, tight stuff, n hills when throttle control is important . Video is about accurate

I have tried every spring on mine and found the yellow one to be a perfect ''in between''. Red is too agressive and green is too flat. These bikes comes with the yellow spring as default and for good reasons I think.

I'm having trouble with my 2008 yz250f. it's backfiring when I let off the throttle, have you had similar problems and how could I fix it.

Greg Ingram because the gas explodes on the way out of the exhaust. Chance your jet to a smaller one.

Vegas RoManiac Did you try the red spring most of the way in to tame it down or was it all the way too. Thanks for the info

@@richardstremlow6075 I tried all the way in, but the spring doesn't work how you think, if you have red and you go all the way in it locks it in nonppwer valve. The adjuster only adjusts how much the woofer valve opens.. I have a video on that

Vegas RoManiac ok. I need to see it. Mine has a inner black spring. Is that the factory spring. So all of them must be all the way out. Thanks for the info.

This spring is over rated, I think the yellow is better & correct adjustments / setup is even more important. Good video though 👍

It’s been shown on dynos that max power w red spring is not full out. Turn it full out and then in one full turn. You will have more low to mid this way... which means less of a hit (compared to full out) ... but u still make max top end power as well.

Russel Houck1 I agree. This is a place for the red spring. I think it’s great that KTM has made it so easy to change on the fly.

LOL i bought a KTM exc300 2001 as my first dirtbike after finding out about these springs i thought it would be fun to try out the red spring so I went to the garage to check what spring it had and someone already has installed the red one before me it didn't come with any other spring so guess i'm stuck with the red one for now I wouldn't say it's really that hard to ride

Haha,it will hit hard, open the valve all the way out.. Otherwise doesn't make sense to have it in

it was already all the way out on the yellow spring so i left it all the way out for the red spring.
