For Rock description we need to know that :
The three main types, or classes, of rock are sedimentary , metamorphic , and igneous and the differences among them have to do with how they are formed. So we have to study the following :
For Rock description we need to :
- Petrology and Petrography .
- Lithology and Lithosratigrapy .
- Sedimentary petrology and sedimentology .
For Rock classification we need to
- Rock mechanics and structure geology
- Rock mechanics test as :
- Recovery and RQD for Rock .
- Specific gravity and denisty .
- Absorption test for Rock .
- Uniaxial compressive strength of tock .
