This album is a masterpiece. The idea of obsession being explored within music is always so interesting. I don't know if the character counts as an unreliable narrator, but watching his mind unravel as he descends into a mental breakdown is so riveting.
My guess is the girl who he liked was seeing the guy in red and maybe she was seeing them both at the same time and she chose the guy in red or they were dating and it was a one sided love , beautiful storytelling
