Love the music . Always liked the red trains and this reminds me of being a kid in 1972 and going out with my mum . We used to go to Kensington and Bond Street, all over London.

Late 70s to 1981 definitely. The big tube rolling stock cascade that saw TS56/59 transfer from the Piccadilly to the Northern to replace the TS38s the best examples of which moved to the Bakerloo was complete by year end. The superb CO/CP bowed out (the farewell tour is shown) in 1981. Nice to see a nearly brand-new C77 in the background.

I was overtaken by nostalgia, having arrived in London in 1960 and retiring to my native Australia at 65. in 1998. My geography of all of Greater London was always informed by its comprehensive underground railway system. I often revisit London by a great UTube site called Wanderizm.

Great film images, great memories, but had to turn off the sound! Completely inappropriate and awful quality music, I'm afraid. If you have any more, please no music!

This is the 70s, not the 80s - the 38 Stock on the Stanmore branch pre-dates the opening of the Jubilee line in 1979, and it had gone from the Northern line a couple of years earlier.

Not sure but there were three carriages. At West Ken I remember at odd times of day / night sometimes we had some kind of trade underground (not district line) stock going through in the direction of Barons Court.
Unless my memory is playing tricks on me I think they even could go in that direction down the 'wrong' platform...

Interesting images, but music irritatingly loud and completely out of tune. Please don't feel compelled to play your old warped LPs. We can live with silent pictures in preference. By the way, some of these images are from the 1970s, as the 1938 tube stock was withdrawn from the Northern Line in 1978. They kept running g on the Bakerloo much longer.

Information message for all the comments whining about the music: you will probably find that your device is prrovided with a control enabling you to adjust or mute the volume. Why not familiarise yourself with this function and how to use it before posting yet another whining comment.

Thankyou for your comment Andrew. I have made this point. As soon as someone hears or dislikes music then go back to the start and mute. I have had in excess of 3000 views and some people seem quite happy. Whilst the choice of music might not be the best it is what I had available. Also I personally feel that some background music aids viewing - otherwise it can be somewhat tedious.
