SKULLS AND SAND DUNES - ADVENTURING IN DESERT AND WASTELAND CAMPAIGNS (PERFECT FOR HOMEBREWED DARKSUN 5E CAMPAIGNS)
The horizon is nothing but scorched desert, you’re out of supplies and your miserable rogue just snatched the last dregs of your water. There on the horizon! Is it a mirage? Is that an oasis or a TPK waiting for you over the next dune? By following just a few tips you can brave the endless blasted expanse like trained survivalists rather than ending up as bleached bones in the sand.

Love the exhaustion factor! This is why I threw in a hardly noticable fungus which keeps the infected from getting the benefits from a long rest.
Normally, my players get infected after opening a grave in a pyramid-like dungeon.
(Yeah, this is basically the curse of the Pharaos.)
That's pretty awesome! What do you call this fungus?
@@SkullSplitter "laenat Satarahud" which is Arabic for "Curse of the Pharao" ;)
Ok so I'm from dayton ohio and I have to agree.
This is an exceptionally good presentation, considering him being shot twice in the back with arrows. Didn’t even see him flinch once.
Used to be an adventurer like you…
And right before you hit record. Top notch, sir.
You rule
WITNESS! This creative and useful advice for DMs using a wasteland setting.
Don’t forget the huge temp swings in deserts that happen at night.
Seriously. I will never forget the bizarre sight of seeing it snow at night in the Arizona Desert.
Having spent a lot of time in the desert at night, we agree.
Super cool video! I’ve wanted to run Dark Sun in 5e for awhile but was intimidated by how to handle survival. Subbing straight away!
Huzzah!
Truth in advertising.
I know of no UA-camr who would fail to say "Like and subscribe" even while under monster attack.
When it comes to the spells Goodberry and Create and Destroy Water, the DM at their discretion could weaken those spells as a result of the environment. Maybe Goodberry takes the caster's own nutrients and minerals in order to create the berries, and if they make too many they gain levels of exhaustion. Maybe creating water takes moisture from the environment and so in a wasteland environment, the spell only provides a minimal amount of water, maybe enough for one person in half a day. If there is anything that could undermine the dangers of the environment, simply undermine the boons that counteract said danger and turn it into an extra challenge.
There's a homebrew I saw that simply required you to find berries for Goodberry to be cast, so it literally would just be up to the DM if they wanted to feed you for a day.
A popular 5E homebrew of Athas covered Create/Destroy water and nerfs it to 1 gallon per level I think.
Good stuff, love me some Dark Sun
Love the jokes. you're amazing! Thank you!
Feeling the love from the wasteland of Ohio
Wait, the campaign is set in Ohio?
*Readies magic missile*
Always has been
We’re fairly certain The Mayor would approve.
The water has lead in it
The only thing to eat is dog food
Your horse is dead and your rouge isn't doing much better
Welcome to Ohio
Wish there were tips on getting water beyond trust your dm, skill rolls, and magic.
Divination spells? Detecting leylines? Higher ground? Idk, just whatever is cool and fits with the setting
Release the Dayton Ohio 5e expansion, WotC, you cowards.
Isnt there some rules about how many times you can use the run action before you get a lvl of exhaustion?
Haha bro, that Dayon, Ohio comment! 😂😂😂
I do wish you used an actual intermediate level arrow for this CosPlay - just sayin'.
[Tribute Comment]
Dayton Ohio, LOLOLOL; dammit
