I’m not sure if it was from the show at the Shrine in LA on 4/15/2015, but Jesse debuted the song that night. I was there and it was silent and emotional the entire time. No other band I’d rather see live again

My favorite band. I never saw a show before they canceled that tour. It breaks my heart but I hope they’re all living their lives happy.
I’m sure most are, who knows about Jesse. They were really special live.
I saw them in Providence, RI in 2003. It was an incredible show.
I've never been a concert person and the 1 band that is my all time favorite, disbanded and i can never see them live like that now. Regardless of that, i can still continue enjoying their music here.
Damn that sucks I saw them 8 times. First time in Seatle when manchester orchestra opened for them that was a rad show
I don't even know what to say, since it's so hard to say it. This band got me through the most impressionable years of my life. From age 14-18, there was no other band that was played more times throughout my headphones than this one. For that, I'm truly thankful and wish they'd come back to continue holding a positive impression on me.
This band was always evolving in a beautiful mature way each & every album like no other in my opinion. It's a shame it's done.

I have to disagree. I love this song, but Science Fiction was IMMACULATE and I feel like this would have disrupted the flow of the album. That's just my opinion though

Yea, I have been a brand new fan for as far as i can remember. I think 02 or 03 if i remember right. To me, the bands grows as i grow. I am now a few months from 30, and I am anxiously waiting their new album and I hope the rumors are fucking wrong. If this is Brand News last album, idk what i will do. I have never meet them, but i saw them live once. In Maine at a college, brand new and dashboard confessional. It was a rocking show. Their music has ALWAYS been there for me, and i wish that someday i can be there for someone as much as Brand news music has been there for me.

the melodies are so brand new but it also feels fresh and mellow. its not depressing, just an introspective kinda song. i dig it. one heavy punk rock song and one mellow introspective song. the new album is such an exciting prospect

Its too bad Jesse Lacey turned out to be an absolute monster, my heart breaks for his victims. I was lucky to have seen them on their farewell tour before the reports came out about Jesse, it took me years before I could listen to Brand New again. Just made me feel dirty. The worst part is, Jesse put it all out there in the lyrics and we all just said "wow, this guy is a great artist" and didn't' wonder if he was advertising to the world how he treated people being absolutely awful.

at first I wasn't feeling it... the lyrics seemed unusually simple...
but my take has changed, this is truly a beautiful tune and I haven't been this excited for a new release in quite some time...

hushthesky I did that with Manchester Orchestra's latest release, COPE. They were my favorite band for...years. And then that album drops and I was sooooo inherently excited and was disappointed in it. I thought that I was let down by the greatest band in my world.
Then I found Brand New to fill the void that COPE left, and boy did it fill it. Now Brand New is on top of the world for me...MO and BN are like 1A and 1B for me lol.. But a few months later I gave COPE a true listen that it deserves because I have gotten 3 incredible albums before...and guess what? I love it now.
Jesse Lacey, among other musicians like Andy Hull, Kevin Devine, etc. can never disappoint me because they fill the my musical world.
Just don't overhype yourself and become disappointed please! They will not release something that isn't better than the last, and that is quoting them.

He was a dear friend, and i sincerely wish i had been there for him. He was a good person, but he sadly couldnt find a place where he felt he belonged.

That night, Belshazzar is killed and the Persians flee the capital, so I think it' basically means something along the lines of IMPENDING DOOM, whether Brand New are aware of this idk but it kind of makes sense to me
