If Kiodaimax Pikachu had a Focus Sash this match would have been different. All it really needed was one attack with it's Gmax move and it would have won.

G-max Pikachu could've tried using Max Guard to stop G-max Gengar from winning and then used a G-max move.

Only if Max Guard is used successfully twice. Remember Gangar had 2 moves left and Max Guard can fail after being using in succession.
