Hey guys. I'll be coming from New Zealand to Canada in 18 months. Never been before so it's a complete unknown for myself and my wife. We're skiers and more like your parents age (if that matters) but we'll be on a tight budget having to fly over, rent a car, eat out etc, etc. I guess the weather will be a major concern too. What would the best time of year be for a combination of good snow and sunshine? We know you need a good storm for good snow but if it's storming 2 out of the 3 weeks we're there then that will eat into our time on the mountain. Also, would an Air bnb be an option for budget accommodation? Cheers. Great video btw.
@@007SpencerForHire First of all thanks for watching my video I really appreciate it ☺️. Glad you are making the trip out here. Are you looking for recommendations in revelstoke specifically or any resorts in general? I have been to quite a few of them so I can definitely give you some tips. The best time to ride here is mid to late February. There is a lot of powder riding during that time but that also means you may run into that snow on the roads. Do you have wide skis? And have you booked your flights already?
@@huntermurray8109 it’s all good! this particular footage was from March of 2023. We will be heading out there again March 2025 so I can’t wait to see what’s new! Thanks for watching :)
@meekonpeak local-ish! I'm not far from Revy. Actually writing this comment from the resort as we speak. Expansion of the mountain would be ideal if they developed the Montana bowl and gave it easier access. But growing the resort is hurting the locals who are almost getting priced out of their own town.
@@The_Blessed_Cowboy Damn I wish I was that close! Lucky!! I’m heading over in March. How are the conditions? Development of the mountian is always a good thing but it’s a tough balance. In one way the people who already have homes there benefit due to their homes going up in value however now the price of everything else will go up for day to day living. Especially since it’s already such a small town with not much (that i know of) of career opportunities. Last time i was there milk cost like 10 bucks!
@meekonpeak conditions are definitely improving daily. There is alot of snow on the upper part of the mountain. But lower mountain remains quite warm. Temps are dropping this week so hopefully it will chase away the fog and bring in more snow. You'll have excellent conditions come March. That's my favorite time to ride this mountain. There are some major improvements to the parking lots. But they still missed the mark by not allowing overnight camping. If you are looking to camp/ski I would recommend Boulder Mountain Resort. They are open all year round with full hook ups.
@@The_Blessed_Cowboy good to hear they are getting better. I guess it’s still early season. The best conditions we have had there was middle of Feb to early march. We are actually flying down and leaving the van at home. I would love to drive out some day but we live in Ontario so we would need more time off. I could have sworn the last few times I have been there, there were campers in the furthest lot.
@@meekonpeak Great video. Looks like you hit it just right. With the low elevation, rain can be a problem on a good portion of the mountain. I heard the gondola can have horrible lines in the beginning of a pow day? How was it for you?
@@KZ-yu4jzthanks for watching!! Honestly we have never had an issue I guess we have just been lucky. There has been one day where it was snowing up top and as soon as you got to the lower quarter of the mountian it was raining but if you stayed on the top half it was fine. As for the lines again we have been lucky. The longest we have had to wait was maybe 30 mins but once you get up you can stay on the top portion (specially the stoke and ripper chair)of the mountian for the rest of the day and only come back down at the end. All of this was filmed during the March break and as you can see not very crowded. We have been there a bunch of times at varying points in the season so if you ever need any tips or have any questions feel free to message me on my Instagram. @chelsea_meek

The locals would never let this mountain become the next Whistler! They'd burn the place down before that ever happened.
