My favorite mission from odst is the one that dutch and Mickey have to defend and later destroy that oni building. Not Many times un halo you play on a defensive role, and the mission makes me feel like we are fighting an unwinneable battle
I almost covered that mission as it happens - had a shortlist of that, NMPD HQ and Coastal Highway. Now that they're fresh in the mind, I'll no doubt end up doing the other two at some point anyway 😂
@@GTAVictor9128 I found that out myself when I was playing. Even on normal difficulty, it's easy to be killed by the hordes of enemies that keep spawning; it's especially more difficult if you haven't disabled the wraiths in the courtyard. I got my health bar shredded down by a brute minor and his grunt squadron after I tried to go plant a grenade on the wraith. I did it, but I almost died after taking a load of enemy fire. I thought the brute captain was unkillable after shooting him with a charged plasma bolt and unloading a full SMG clip on his shields. I didn't realize just how strong their shields were, and I had to keep dying a lot before I could kill him and take his grav hammer. I used it to kill everyone in the courtyard before I went inside. I played Reach as well, and the controls work very similarly, with some minor differences. I found that ODST's Firefight was much harder than Reach's. Enemies kept rushing from all sides: jackals armed with carbines, plasma pistols, or needlers, grunts constantly throwing plasma grenades, hunters wearing gold-plated armor, brutes, etc. My biggest problems were the invisible brutes armed with maulers, hunters that just didn't want to die, and jackal snipers cutting my health down rapidly. I found only long range weapons like the carbine were useful in eliminating them. I think it will take me some time to get used to the game before I can survive on my own for a while.
@@clydecraft5642 YESSS!! I love missions with a big emphasis on having large convoys of wharthogs full of marines you've helped out. That's why I love Voi and The Storm in Halo 3 and Reclaimer in Halo 4
Halo 3: ODST is the most underrated Halo game. It's like Halo 3, but without the overrused BR and the dual wielding that weakens some weapons, non-regenerating health which forces you to fight smarter and excellent ambiance.
It's way more entertaining than I remembered! I think this playthrough I spent less time wandering the streets and moved more directly between missions, which improved the pacing and made it much more engaging.
Come to think of it, it’s ironic that ODST is one of my favorites considering that I actually don’t like 3 very much at all. Your comment makes that a lot more clear as to why
It had the best sandbox imo. Every weapon had a purpose and was balanced to near perfection. The brutes got the buff they so desperately needed and there was no longer any dual wielding to ruin the balancing.
It's necessary to note that Romeo isn't "the sniper" in the way that Jun is Noble Team's sniper. If you remember in the opening cutscene, he wanted to go with the shotgun, but Buck assigned him a sniper instead, much to Romeo's disappointment.
@@Kaarl_Mills Nah, Buck was in on the mission objective changing, the rest of the squad wasn't. Buck made a logical call that Romeo didn't understand at tge moment
According to halo lore, Romeo was forced into the UNSC for sleeping with a leader's daughter. He was an excellent shot, however, and became a marksman.
@@Kaarl_Mills the beginning cutscene buck and dare are arguing about the mission. Buck might have not known specifics, but he knew they were dropping in the city not on the carrier.
I really like how it fit into the established story. However, it does annoy me that it's listed after Halo 3 in the MCC when it should be in between 2 and 3 I think? Reach is first on the list, so they're in chronological order otherwise.
@@BenPlaysGames honestly i would prefer if they listed it as the release order, i know they put reach first since it's HCE's prequel but being the last of the bungie halos it feels awkward gameplay-wise going back to the first after it, but if you go in release order then you can appreciate the evolution of the games in a more natural order, which IMHO is the better way to experience the games, even better than chronological order tbh.
It's not related to this mission specifically but I love that in the opening cutscene when Buck forces the Sniper onto Romeo he says "What am I supposed to do with this inside a Covenant ship" which I always interpret as a nod to Truth and Reconciliation since you use a Sniper and go inside a Covenant ship
Wanted to point out the more subtle narrative points NMPD HQ has to offer. Buck is, without a doubt, and in my opinion, the best character in the game. And we learn very early on that Romeo is kind of the a-hole of the group. But I actually really like that trait of Romeo's because it helps him act as a foil for Buck. Buck is a very hopeful and positive leader. He doesn't immediately right off Dare's "death" despite the signs, and he's certain Rookie is alive. Romeo is the opposite. Yet despite Romeo's negativity, Buck wants to protect him too. NMPD HQ makes this the most obvious when it opens with Romeo telling Buck to give up on Rookie, and when it closes with Romeo actually being the one who needs saving.
Solid comment this! Funnily enough, I recorded some lines regarding the Buck/Romeo conversation at the start but didn't end up using them as I like the video to flow linearly and I couldn't fit everything in during the time the footage gave me. Too fussy by half perhaps 😂
And hes modeled and voiced after Malcolm Reynolds These days, everything caters to idiot gen-Z, there is NO WAY they’d ever have a character as ‘old’ as Buck, due to idiot zoomers
My favorite mission is when your playing the rookie and your out in the streets of the city and it's dark and lonely, the only things that are with u the entire time is the silence and the covenant,it sets the tone for your situation, you don't have any allies, every marine u see is dead, there's no one talking to u on the comms, the only thing u can do is find clues to meet up with your team, and u can't simply go up and fight a pack of brutes cuz your not a spartan, all the other missions are great but I enjoy the sections with rookie in the city the most
The short missions really make it easy to say “hey I feel like some nmpd hq, or maybe some good fun Kazingo boulevard, or tsavo highway, or maybe uplift reserve.”. It makes them very accessible and replay-able if you have limited time, or you can chain it in wth multiple other things.
Spot on, I had to fit in my recent playthrough around work etc and the structure made it really easy to jump in and out for 30 minutes or so for a mission whenever I had time to get footage.
I think this is a relatively well-known fun fact at this point, but for anyone who doesn't know, the police officer who gets killed by the Brute Chieftain during the ending cinematic has a battle rifle. The only one in the game IIRC
I think it’s great that the developers could make such a unique game by changing just a few of the base gameplay aspects. Makes me want to play it some more
@@BenPlaysGames Haha, I'm actually making a cinematic direcctor's cut for it like I did Reach's levels "The Pillar of Autumn" and "Lone Wolf", but this time I'm just doing the cutscenes for the Rookie + him walking around the city. Make sure you sub; could make for good background footage for ya ;)
I think for me, Halo ODST had a really balanced weapon sandbox that made it closer to Halo CE/Halo 2 than Halo 3, Reach or 4. It made you be careful with which weapon to use in each segment. Like e.g, I'll have the mindset of "I know there's a couple of brutes and a lot of grunts in this section, so I'll take a magnum and a needler for now." It's very rare whilst playing Halo 3, e.g, that I ever think that way, since I have a shield and the ability to kill most enemies with a single melee. I also think ODST proved that you can make a fantastic Halo game without needing the main character be some super soldier or powerful alien species. I'd love another ODST game earlier in the Human/Covenant war or something because ODST was so much fun and made me feel like the Covenant were an unstoppable force
Would be cool to see an ODST (or maybe marine?) Halo game where you are truly weak. The ODST in H3: ODST still felt too (close to spartans basically). Imagine a game where even a single grunt was a serious threat and you had to approach every encounter in a highly tactical and careful manner and use every means available to you. Having the flood be introduced half-way through would fit such a game very well too.
Great points Chris and I agree entirely. ODST feels like a very different game from those in which you play as a Spartan, and I dig it. Definitely echo your comments about Halo games without Spartans too - would love to see more.
Couple of comments about some of your thoughts: 1) the short missions are a direct consequence of the low development time and resources. Most of Bungie was working on Reach at the time Halo ODST was being worked on, so the ODST team must have struggled to even get this game out as awesome as it is. 2) I always understood the turrets at the end, as well as being there for gameplay purposes (and having enough for four player co-op) were the missile pods and autocannon from the wrecked pelican.
The turrets at the end were obviously from the pelican, but they were from the cargo hold or smth. If you look around, you can see the distinctive packages they come in before they're set up.
I thought the missile pods were from a makeshift SAM nest set up when Regret's Carrier was on Earth. Not that they could damage the ship but target any Covenant air forces with ease. Just headcanon though.
@@physical_insanity Ahhhh yeah. I was meaning the missile pods on the floor, arranged perfectly around the Pelican. For the ones that are set up, you're probably right.
@@robcowboy2713 Makes sense! We saw a fair few banshees on Earth during Halo 2, so it seems legit to me. However I'd say the missile pods on the floor are from the Pelican (due to how they're placed)
Cheers for taking the time to check them all out Cameron! Honestly, I think I might be using these videos in part as an excuse to play more Halo instead of the million other titles I've been planning to play haha.
ODST and Reach are my favorite Halo games. ODST is amazing that it does so much with very little- and makes me wonder why 343 can't just pump out an ODST 2 in a similar fashion.
The only thing about ODST that I didn’t like was the part where average NMPD units were using ODST weapons (silenced SMGs and tactical Magnums). This is why I wish they included the halo 3 magnum as a alternative.
These are always so well written that they feel like professional presentations rather than just an amateur video essay/review of a level. I really hope our lord The Algorithm catches on
I love ODST so much, the music, the atmosphere, and the gameplay is so much fun. It’s essentially a stream lined halo game with no fluff missions, each one is quick and to the point. It really says a lot about the people behind ODST because many claim it to be the best or one of the best halo game, story and soundtrack. Looking forward to whatever you make next!
Thanks Ian mate - starting work on the next video tomorrow evening and definitely have something in mind already! Agree on ODST too. I had to squeeze in a full playthrough over a week around work and day-to-day life, and it's an amazing game for that as it's so easy to jump in and out of given the short, sharp missions.
@@BenPlaysGames It's obvious a lot of people really love this game but I don't think it gets said enough how much we really take it for granted. It's a Halo game with all new characters, tweaked mechanics and themes and it was developed in an extremely short amount of time by a smaller "B" team while the majority of the studio was in preproduction for Reach and some early Destiny stuff. And yet, it's loved just as much, if not more, as the original trilogy. I absolutely love this game to death and I've been hoping for a similar spin off esque game in the future, but we'll have to see how 343 pulls off Infinite before that.
I loved playing ODST. It's my third favorite Halo game in the series. I love the quiet jazz music that plays when you're the Rookie and the more traditional Halo music when you play as his squad mates. It certainly sets the tone of being stranded behind enemy lines in a ruined city as well as missing all the action. ODST also has four missions back to back that are an absolute treat to play. The first and Dutch missions, Mickey's mission, and Romeo's are stellar. I agree that Romeo's mission is the most fun but Dutch's second mission gives it a run for its money. On a last note, I still get chills when I go back and watch the trailer for the game. …And I'm still mad the Rookie was killed off in one of the books.
I remember when the game was featured in GameInformer when I was subscribed to it and then it was called Halo 3:Recon and it still looked amazing. And the fact that John was like 7 feet tall or something and most ODST were 5’7”-6’ really made the enemy types more daunting and dangerous especially when you don’t have shields.
Years ago I borrowed a copy of this game and played it and enjoyed it. However, playing it again last year (Halo MCC) I was absolutely blown away by how good this mission feels, from the attention to detail at the start to the crescendo at the end. And the music is phenomenal. Though the aesthetics might be the same, the height that you’re playing at isn’t. I can’t remember exactly, but I think it’s only the brief rooftop bit of the ONI building that’s the other roof fight in the game.
Halo 3 ODST was the most fun game to replay when I was modding it. Each level is good. There is no level that I I don’t want to play like in every other halo game like with the library
I always saw ODST as a spinoff story nothing more but during the UKs first lockdown I played through the whole thing on legendary, got all the audio logs along the way and I literally listened to them all while it was night time on Mombasa streets and irl. To get to the point, I think ODST's mission variety and atmosphere makes it one of my favourite campaigns
ODST is probably one of my favorite Halo games. It’s really fun, and a good challenge. Personally my favorite mission is the last one where you’re escaping the city. The way the Covenant ships start to appear, and glass the city really adds a sense of urgency. The Scarabs walking around was also really cool. Seeing that garbage truck gain an over shield was amazing! ODST was a great game, but it’s a big letdown when you think about what could have been. In fact should have been. For one thing we should have been fighting the Elites for the majority of the campaign. With the Brutes being seen at night, and the last half/two thirds of the game. We know that if you spawn in the Elites they’re on team Covenant, and the Brutes are on team Prophets (
Continuation of comment since I uploaded it too early: ua-cam.com/video/6wIXJRB_mmI/v-deo.html). It would have been really fun to fight the Elites with the Halo 3/ODST sandbox. Plus, it would have made sense given the timeline, and would have been more lore accurate than what we got. Unfortunately Bungie either didn’t care, or didn’t have enough time. I’m addition to enemy Elites they should have added in Halo 2 vehicles like the Spector, and Shadow (e3 troop transport/ghost carrier). It would have been amazing to see the two factions fighting in the Great Schism. They could have foreshadowed this betrayal by having dead Elites, and some Brute squads executing Elite prisoners. Then those Brutes could have been armed with Elite weapons like the Energy Swords, and Elite Plasma Rifles they took as trophies kind of like how they had human weapons in 2. Unfortunately they didn’t fix the issues with the Brutes, and they’re still just bootleg Elites. This is an excellent video talking about what went wrong, and how to fix them (ua-cam.com/video/cL2zFh7cMUc/v-deo.html). They could have also given the Brutes the ability to dual wield like in the early Recon trailer (ua-cam.com/video/WroxHMo6B_k/v-deo.html). Despite these flaws I still love the game. It just could have been so much more. Great video. I really like how you pointed out all the things Bungie did right in that video, and got wrong. It was a good critique. I didn’t notice some of those details when I first played.
ODST is definitely my favourite Halo game (which I think is saying a lot considering the amazingly high quality of the other Bungie Halo games). Every part of this game from the music, the characters, the story, the voice acting, the music, the style, the charm, the aesthetic to the music is absolutely brilliant. I would recommend this game to anyone who hasn't yet played it and I would recommend any who has played it to play it again.
Personally I don't enjoy ODST that much, but this mission is easily my favourite from the game. I think your observations are spot on - what I enjoy the most about this mission is the humorous dialogue, and most importantly the music! This level has an awesome soundtrack. I love the midsection of the track 'Skyline', which plays when you fight the Covenant at close quarters - glad you pointed that bit out!
If they came to see a poorly made video, they will be disappointed. Lol, amazing content as always. I really enjoyed this video, as ODST is a game I kind of ignored and only recently developed deep admiration for.
Glad you brought up the soundtrack for this mission. I recently did a play through of this game and never really noticed the music to this level. The guitar riffs for the final encounter caught me off guard and made the whole ordeal so damn exciting.
Thanks Burge! I actually had it fairly low down on my ranking of the Bungie Halo games prior to playing it again last week, but have definitely learned to appreciate it for its own qualities. Definitely on board with the SMG, much, much prefer it to the other versions.
Definitely worth a replay if you can mate, I was never the biggest fan prior to playing it last week but I've been turned around somewhat. I found spending less time wandering the streets in between missions kept the pace high and made it a more engaging experience, for me at least. And no worries either!
That's even my favourite. The music is badass, weapons are awesome, playing this mission multiple times made me go good with sniper and final section is the best
Excellent mission and excellent video. If you look closely when the Brute Chieftain knocks the first human aside with his hammer he is holding a battle rifle. The only one in ODST
One thing people miss about this game is the realistic detail, if all 30 pieces of intel are collected, you'll have a secret fight in the second to last mission against the officer you were with, he'd actually jump down with you and say he has to check something inside of a frozen room. Now what you do next determines the outcome. Do you let him torch up the evidence of him murdering the main character of the intel stories? Or do you go in there and see what is up with him and then have the superintendent expose him to which you two fight? Also another fun fact, some pieces of intel that you collect can open up secret stashes (big and small) which are built into the walls of the city, they can include the normal weapons (SMG and Pistol) or power weapons. Even a mongoose or a warthog, which come in real handy during a LASO or Legendary run. Hope you guys enjoyed reading this! :D
My favourite part of this mission is that the very first time I played it I was just going along the bridge at the end and then suddenly getting run over by a Banshee out of nowhere and watching as my corpse spun violently into the streets below, it was great.
What you forgot to point out was that ODST was a small and rapidly put together side project at Bungie, essentially to keep developers busy between Halo 3 and Halo Reach as a result of the Neil Blomkamp Halo Movie falling through.
I loved the one where you get in the tank and start wrecking havoc. It's more enjoyable when you realize not until this point you had to be extremely careful of the enemy. Also, when two ODST arrive to help the New Mumbasa Police, or the USMC soldiers, you still make a difference.
I regularly forget and enjoy being reminded that there is a ship in official Halo canon named UNSC Say My Name. How many proud and mighty alien warriors met their end at the muzzle of a vessel named with unabashed dirty talk? Positively outfuckingstanding.
Of course, it's really the folks at Bungie who are incredible at naming things, as demonstrated by the badass track which I didn't know had the badass name and play on words "Air Traffic Control". Again, outstanding!
Big fan of the channel; i've a suggestion for you. Review Red Dead 2's missions as well as they establish characters and themes. Act 3 Mission 1 with the introduction of Trelawney as a devil on your shoulder truly is something else
Cheers for the support Tomás! Confession time - I've actually not got round to playing Red Dead 2 yet. Loved the first and full intend to do it, but been waiting for a PS5 patch or similar so I can play it at tip top quality. As soon as Rockstar hopefully releases that, I'm on it.
@@BenPlaysGames The storytelling behind the missions is great for character development, it's a fantastic game, and it might bring in new viewers to your channel too bro :) Love your work, you made me replay Halo CE and 2 because of your videos!
Hands down this is indeed the best Halo game for atmosphere, teaching the player to fight smarter, not faster, and really allows lore on Elite UNSC Soldiers in the ODST to really showcase why they are indeed considered the best of the best.
Having just played through the MCC (my first halo experience) I would say ODST might be my personal favorite. The game just did a very good job at being it's own thing. The atmosphere, especially in Mombasa streets is awesome, getting to play as several different ODSTs, the side story through the audio logs, and firefight. It's just so memorable and it feels like less of a slog then some of the mainline halo titles.
Love this mission and the end cut scene! Epic! 😊 worst mission is the last one especially on legendary if you get a bad save you have to start over as maybe you can’t get back to protect dare.
I didn't like ODST that much when I first played through the whole thing (only about a year ago), but you're making me want to give it an extra shot. Maybe I didn't give it the chance it deserved. As always: thanks for the video! And again: such speed of video releases. I hope you're not burning yourself out on this!
No worries Torb! I'd say defo give it another go if you can - I was never a huge fan but now a few years have passed, time has seemingly been the greatest healer and I now rather like it. And it won't always be like this on the video releases, I've just been spending more time recently listening to videogame soundtracks and writing/editing before bed to help me chill out haha.
@@BenPlaysGames Come to think about it, I think what I miss with ODST are the great open lush landscapes of CE, 3 (and to lesser extent 2, 4). ODST is all city (aside from that park, but that one is… very… brown…). Think I'd like ODST a lot more if the environments where more varied.
I dont know if this one is the best mision of halo 3 odst but for me, Halo 3 odst is my favorite halo game, i really love it. I do really like the Chief with the hammer cinematic, is how a non super soldier would fight against it. (And in the whole game Buck ended being my fav character of halo, i hoppe 343 doesnt forget about him just cause halo 5 wasnt a good campaing game.
I've always thought the excessive arsenal of the NMPD snipers and turrets spoke to the highly militarized state of the UEG feeling like a world building choice as well as a weapon pickup

ODST is actually my favorite Halo game. I have never met another person with that opinion 😂 Halo 3 was excellent and deserves its place as Halo's most beloved entry, but there's something to be said about *not* being a Spartan. You're a normal, if incredibly badass, human being. No MJOLNIR, no energy shields, no super jumps, no crazy melee damage. Just a normal person with a gun and a prayer against the Covenant. I think it's a concept that the series should revisit at some point. Also a big fan of the Firefight mode.
Buck is O-, the blood type that can donate blood to anyone, while Romeo is AB+, the blood type that can accept any other blood type. This matches their personalities. Buck only wants to get his men out, while Romeo is a selfish a-hole.
ODST was a cool change. My problem with it was how similar an ODST trooper feels to a spartan. Like it shouldve been harder, & certain things like punching brutes shouldnt have been possible.
It's so funny you should say this as it's something I wrote almost verbatim in the script I'm working on at the moment! The ODSTs definitely feel a bit too strong.
Best track on the soundtrack in my opinion, love this mission tonally, but the repeated scenery feels so lacking for me that I dislike actually playing it.
@@BenPlaysGames Yep. And Mickey becomes an insurrectionist like his parents did. Actually, that detail about him (his parents being inies) ties in to his characterization in ODST some too. We first learned his parentage in a bio paragraph about him prior to release, and IMO, when he gets really excited at the prospect of blowing up ONI HQ, it's because of that history.
It would have been nice to use your sniper rifle to engage Covenant in buildings from afar (hundreds of meters away), but that would be technically challenging and may be too difficult for casual gamers.
Hiya there Ben, I just wanted to ask if you'd played Brigand: Oaxaca before? If not, I highly recommend you give it a try, even through it's rough exterior. I think it's a game that everyone should experience, not for it's influence or quality, but for what it teaches us about the purity of video games. In a way, it's the video game equivalent of Who Killed Captain Alex, being made by one man on a hamstring budget, filled only with love and bullshit. It's a rough experience, and really difficult (which might be an issue), but it's easy mode should suffice. Failing that, memorization. It goes for around 5 dollars on steam (2 during a sale,) so price shouldn't be an issue.

And hes modeled and voiced after Malcolm Reynolds
These days, everything caters to idiot gen-Z, there is NO WAY they’d ever have a character as ‘old’ as Buck, due to idiot zoomers
My favorite mission is when your playing the rookie and your out in the streets of the city and it's dark and lonely, the only things that are with u the entire time is the silence and the covenant,it sets the tone for your situation, you don't have any allies, every marine u see is dead, there's no one talking to u on the comms, the only thing u can do is find clues to meet up with your team, and u can't simply go up and fight a pack of brutes cuz your not a spartan, all the other missions are great but I enjoy the sections with rookie in the city the most
The only issue with Mombasa Streets is it has pretty poor replayability. Other than that it's great.
@@NotCOPPAFTCA I dont know about that, I love driving through the streets picking up audio logs the most in every new game
@@Phonixfire the hunters were pretty scary because they ACTUALLY hunt you.
@@beatlecristian can agree there
you can fight a ton of brutes wot u talking about
The short missions really make it easy to say “hey I feel like some nmpd hq, or maybe some good fun Kazingo boulevard, or tsavo highway, or maybe uplift reserve.”.
A couple of people including yourself have mentioned that. I wonder if there's a reason...
@@BenPlaysGames The BR was probably meant to be in ODST but took it out and maybe forgot to take it out in the cutscene
@@mjpraetorian4386 That makes sense!
@@mjpraetorian4386 If the BR isn’t in it then The BR must have some horrible recoil that only a spartan can control

I think it’s great that the developers could make such a unique game by changing just a few of the base gameplay aspects. Makes me want to play it some more
Do it Curtis!
The one mission that sticks out from every other mission in the franchise, and is by far my favourite in the game, is Mombasa Streets
It’s technically just an open world mission
@@Higher-Ground Now that's a hot take if I've ever seen one. Consider me impressed.
The final part of this mission is just so epic and gets the adrenaline up!
Soundtrack does it, such a good tune!
I think for me, Halo ODST had a really balanced weapon sandbox that made it closer to Halo CE/Halo 2 than Halo 3, Reach or 4. It made you be careful with which weapon to use in each segment. Like e.g, I'll have the mindset of "I know there's a couple of brutes and a lot of grunts in this section, so I'll take a magnum and a needler for now."
It's very rare whilst playing Halo 3, e.g, that I ever think that way, since I have a shield and the ability to kill most enemies with a single melee.
When I first played this mission I remember being a badass and yelling some Covie slurs
Couple of comments about some of your thoughts:
1) the short missions are a direct consequence of the low development time and resources.
I always thought that the ONI mission where you have to blow the bridge with Dutch and Mickey was the best, but that's just me.
Ooo a fresh Halo vid, I've been bingeing all of them... Good stuff Ben!
Cheers for taking the time to check them all out Cameron! Honestly, I think I might be using these videos in part as an excuse to play more Halo instead of the million other titles I've been planning to play haha.
@@BenPlaysGames *emperor Palpatine voice* Yeeees… [something something] more Halo!
Swat gear maybe?
These are always so well written that they feel like professional presentations rather than just an amateur video essay/review of a level. I really hope our lord The Algorithm catches on
That's real kind Pabs mate, thanks. I've grown a little quicker recently, so fingers crossed it continues!
I’m glad I’m not the only one who loves this mission. 10 year old me would play it just for that guitar soundtrack at the end of the level

Air Traffic Control is so good, one of my favourites in the series. Most of the soundtrack is quality in all honesty, love it.
Well 17 year old me still does that.

I have that issue somewhere haha, great cover.
If you take Buck's Assault rifle before he fires it, it's also missing bullets because of the cutscene.
Nice, didn't spot that!
I love the ONI mission too, brief but excellent.
Halo 3 ODST was the most fun game to replay when I was modding it. Each level is good. There is no level that I I don’t want to play like in every other halo game like with the library
Odst was my first game and i am glad, it is my favorite game aesthetic wise and ive listened to each of the tracks for many many hour
Air Traffic Control is one of my favourites in the entire series, absolute banger!
We know that if you spawn in the Elites they’re on team Covenant, and the Brutes are on team Prophets (
Continuation of comment since I uploaded it too early:
ua-cam.com/video/6wIXJRB_mmI/v-deo.html).
Another excellent video and commentary, Ben. One of my favorite entries in the series. 👍
Nice one Carlos, appreciate you always taking the time to check them out!
ODST is such a unique Halo title. I'd love a video with your thoughts on the game as a whole!
I still struggle to enjoy the Mombasa Streets as much as some people do but as you said, the music and the dialogue especially are mustard.
All your Halo Reach and Halo 3: ODST videos I've binged watched
Awesome, cheers for the support Terrence mate and hope you enjoyed them!
If they came to see a poorly made video, they will be disappointed. Lol, amazing content as always. I really enjoyed this video, as ODST is a game I kind of ignored and only recently developed deep admiration for.
Thanks Trip - funnily enough, I'm exactly the same too. Was never one I was a huge fan of but I do have a recent newfound appreciation for it.
Glad you brought up the soundtrack for this mission. I recently did a play through of this game and never really noticed the music to this level. The guitar riffs for the final encounter caught me off guard and made the whole ordeal so damn exciting.
Another great video man.
Love ODST, especially this mission! Plus ODST gives the SMG, my favourite gun, an awesome make over!
Thanks Burge! I actually had it fairly low down on my ranking of the Bungie Halo games prior to playing it again last week, but have definitely learned to appreciate it for its own qualities. Definitely on board with the SMG, much, much prefer it to the other versions.
The music in the final encounter is one of my favorite tracks in the entirety of the series, right behind Breaking the Covenant
I absolutely love it too mate, quality tune.
This mission got the best skyscraper scenery
Gotta replay this game, haven't played since it came out and always forget how entertaining it is. Thanks for the great content as always!
Definitely worth a replay if you can mate, I was never the biggest fan prior to playing it last week but I've been turned around somewhat. I found spending less time wandering the streets in between missions kept the pace high and made it a more engaging experience, for me at least. And no worries either!
and the Firefight mode is still fire 🔥
That's even my favourite. The music is badass, weapons are awesome, playing this mission multiple times made me go good with sniper and final section is the best
RIP that one police officer at the end
Haha poor bugger!
Excellent mission and excellent video. If you look closely when the Brute Chieftain knocks the first human aside with his hammer he is holding a battle rifle. The only one in ODST
Cheers Gary! And huh, didn't notice that at all. Could have done with myself haha.
Rn I currently replaying this game. Day missions in the day and night at night. I was playing this mission last night. Thanks

Yep, possibly the best song in the game other than Deference for Darkness, which I can't get enough of.
R.I.P to NMPD officer with the only battle rifle in game. Who got sent flying like a rag doll.
My favourite part of this mission is that the very first time I played it I was just going along the bridge at the end and then suddenly getting run over by a Banshee out of nowhere and watching as my corpse spun violently into the streets below, it was great.
I found ODST quite refreshing and entertaining.
Likewise!
Great vid man
Cheers Leafy dude!
Say My Name is one of my favourites. Love Dawn Under Heaven too, stunning name.

Halo odst 2 is gonna be great
ODST is actually my favorite Halo game.

It would have been nice to use your sniper rifle to engage Covenant in buildings from afar (hundreds of meters away), but that would be technically challenging and may be too difficult for casual gamers.
Didn’t go too well for Romeo? What about the other dude that got yeeted by the chieftains hammer?
The guy that got yeeted also had a battle rifle
that's the only battle rifle that appears in halo 3 odst for some reason
My favorite would be all the new Mombasa streets missions
