Pääsiäiskokko on pääsiäisenä, yleensä pääsiäislauantaina tai sitä seuraavana yönä poltettava rovio.
Tapa esiintyy Suomessa lähinnä Pohjanmaalla. Aiemmin uskottiin, että juuri tuona päivänä, jolloin Jeesus oli kuolleena, Jumalan suojeleva vaikutus oli pienimmillään, ja kokkoja poltettiin noitien ja pahojen henkien karkottamiseksi. Uskomus oli, että mitä enemmän kokosta nousi savua ja kipinöitä, sen parempi. Noidat ja muut pahat henget eivät päässeet savun ja kipinäsateen läpi ihmisiä vahingoittamaan.
An Easter bonfire is a bonfire that is burned on Easter, usually on Easter Saturday or the night after.
The custom occurs in Finland mainly in Ostrobothnia.
In the past, it was believed that on the very day when Jesus was dead,
God's protective influence was at its lowest, and bonfires were lit to ward off witches and evil spirits.
The belief was that the more smoke and sparks that
came out of the pot, the better.
Witches and other evil spirits couldn't get through the smoke
and sparks to harm people.
