Has anyone done carbon dating on these paints? In a century most of these will be gone. Apart from Ajanta even Ellora has some paintings. These were last done by Marathas, but underneath those there might be more layers. Similarly even Elephanta caves near Mumbai have the last strokes of paint. These should be scientifically dated.
This temple is now maintained by the ASI. The temple had very many colorful murals but now there are none. Only a few places show a faint traces of paint which were conserved by a chemist Paramasivan who worked with the ASI (as I have heard). Pallavas did pioneer the mural art and after them there were not many who carried that legacy on even though they maintained the temple.
@@dharmicperspective Thank you for the work you are doing🙏. I hope more people ask for carbon dating of the paint samples so we have more information before these last samples are lost. ASI may or may not have done it. If more UA-camrs talk about this kind of scientific dating then more people will be asking about for it.
I always try to imagine these temples when thousands worshipped there, thanks for showing 🙏
I love the way they course choose a way according to one's bent. Just like there are 4 measures of intelligence.❤
👌👏🙏 Thank you for this excellent presentation. Your commentary is also very enlightening
