- I play Mario Kart Arcade GP VR at the VR Zone Portal in London. Mario Kart VR is an awesome arcade experience located within the Hollywood Bowl at the O2 in London. It cost £7.99 per race and up to four players can play together. I really enjoyed Mario Kart Arcade GP VR, I wish this was available for home VR users...

If all the VR platforms got together and published this, they would make a fortune. I cant think of anyone who wouldn't buy the game.
I know right.....I guess it's up to Nintendo []-)
Anyone who doesnt have 2000 dollars to spend
Jeffrey but it could also be a quest release...
@@jeffreyouwehand679 I recommend LowSpecGamer's Budget VR Video. He managed to get an HP headset for only $150, and a 1050 Ti which is $70 used. Most games ran well on the system, and those that didn't, ran well with some settings changes. Considering the rest of the system as well, you could probably get a pretty good VR experience for only $400 USD including the headset, and a capable gaming machine on top of that. Seems like a pretty good deal to me. Here's the video if you need some of the finer details, like what you'll have to sacrifice if you wanna go lower spec than that: ua-cam.com/video/gIc3oUByAbk/v-deo.html
I would buy it, play it, play it again, wait for the remaster, play that again and again, buy all the merchandise, and then post an angry review 😄😁
I need this in my life
I need this at home lol []-)
I need this in my face
Woah, now that is something i'd like to play! Great video Mike :D
Thanks dude []-)
I went there yesterday, it was amazing. What he forgot to mention though, is it also has fans to simulate speed, which I thought was a really nice edition.
Ah yes! The wind in my beard, how could I have forgotten to mention that. Thanks dude []-)
I'm not hugely into gaming but still love the spooky levels in Mario Kart so yeah if they bring out a Haunted Mansion track then I'd probably sell my soul. Great video by the way...
Thanks kevwolf69! []-)
You probably should have said at the beginning about the video syncing. I watched whole video thinking it had terrible lag.
The day when this setup releases for home users, let us know Mike! Being able to play Mario Kart VR like that, at home, is a dream.
I know right. I will let you all know for sure []-)
Hot damn! This was 5 years ago?!?! Omg I hope to see MK VR come to home consoles!
The profet of VR brings us the fusion of mario and VR😃
Haha thanks Santiago []-)
This is what Nintendo needs to focus on now lol
Exactly! I need more of this in my life! []-)
then they'd gain another 95% of the gaming market
This is nintendo and namco
Nintendo please make this available for everyone! This is literally VR killer app.
Just played it in Leeds with my son! Unbelievable I loved it! You feel so “in the game” omg! Fantastic but only 1 lap lol I could have gone all day
It would need to be more fleshed out with lots of different tracks like one would expect from a Mario Kart game. Of course if they did that then it would be amazing. As it goes, Mario Kart VR could do with some track selection itself, even if it is made for arcades.
Thank you for sharing. Mario Kart in vr looks insane. One of the main reasons I purchased an Oculus Rift was because of all the vr racing games (Project Cars 1,2, Dirt Rally). The Karts are some of the funnest cars to drive. If you ever decide to get a sim rig definitely look into gt omega. Mine was very easy to put together(gt omega art chassis).
Thanks for the tip. Which racing sim is your fav? []-)
My favorite is Project Cars 2.
London has the coolest VR stuff! =( =( I'm so freaking jelly!
It’s in Shanghai too. Which is closer to you lol!? []-)
Not sure. Both are probably equally as depressing lol. I imagine as the swallow flies London.
This looks amazing!
It was really cool. I just wish I could play it at home []-)
Thats the end goal!
Home market? I would love to get it in the arcades. Such a pity that you cannot play it in regular arcades :(
I suffer from motion sickness after a very short duration of VR usage - Does the movement of the kart help to alleviate this by simulating the movement of an actual kart? Or could it potentially make motion sickness worse?
this is very unlikely to have this in my home town, the only place they could possibily have it is, the arcade in the outside park called magic mountain, the arcade is the only activity inside, and now since they close Crystical palace forever and now it is something else, a fish equipment store, the crystal palace where you can do the out side activities in door during the winter, the only other place with an Arcade is just one movie theatre that got an arcade. Even that was good during the summer for people with allergies, so instead of going mini-golf outside you go and do it inside and have the same fun, without the consistant sniffling, and plus if they would have been a thunder storm outside since your inside you would not have to stop playing mini-golf.
I play project cars 2 and assetto corsa in VR using a G29 and it´s freacking awesome. I have a pretty good idea of how you felt
Nice, have you tried Dirt? []-)
Yes, I have! it´s pretty imersive, but PC2 is twice better.
This should be the first Nintendo game on steam and ps4
£7.99 per race! Well there goes my hope of going. It would have to be done amongst other things then. I was hoping to go to London exclusively to try this. Maybe I'll go when next in London.
Hmmmm... I wonder if the Yaw VR simulator chair would work with DolphinVR for Gamecube/Wii Mario Kart :D
Drge I also would like to know this It would need a program running feed back out of the game to the Yaw
Haha yeah, that would be cool! []-)
Omg why can't it be on the Switch?! 😭😭😭
Btw looks so cool
I had already played a couple of times in Shinjuku, but if I was headed to that part of London I would pop in for another go.
Awesome! Did you try any other VR arcade experiences out []-)
Yep, I tried a few in VR Zone:
Gundam VR prototype (Like Senjou no Kizuna but in VR)
Evangelion VR The Throne of Souls : Berserk
Hanechari (Winged Bicycle)
Argyle Shift
Ghost in the Shell: Arise Stealth Hounds - This is the best of the bunch, played 2 v 2 full body tracked in a 20m X 12m arena
Then in Sega's arcades in Shinjuku and Akihabara:
John Wick in Star VR hmd with that big fov! (o 0)
Mortal Blitz - Arcade version is played in about 9m x 9m area
I heard they moved it from O2 to Namco arcades in Westminster but that’s not the case. Is it available anywhere in Europe? I would fly to play this game again.
Totally want this to come to the home market with more tracks and online play. I'd pick up the hand trackers too if it did.
Same []-)
SMG4 went there too.
Mario Kart Wii in VR is like this, I beat the entire game in VR.
How? With and emulator or something how do you get to see it in VR?
@@damarlboromans Dolphin VR
Had no idea this was on at the O2, will try to pop over from the other side of London
Looks good
It's short but so so awesome! []-)
ive spent a stupid amount of time on vr karts on go i dread to think if i had mario kart vr i whould never see the real world again
I haven't tried VR Karts yet.....I should []-)
hopefully ill get a spin on august bank hol as we heading down there. thanks for the awesome review as always. peace n love
Have fun []-)
I played this in Tokyo couple years back. One of my first experience in vr. I was very underwhelmed to say the least. The image quality was terrible. Colours were washed out and it had an excessive amount of the screen door effect. I came away glad I hadn’t spent any money for vr ready pc and a vive. I would’ve been pissed off. Only thing I liked was the sense of scale.
Watching while getting a bus to it
Is anything like this available in London atm? I'm now aware this was one of those pop up events. I got into VR in 2020 so would live to try such an immersive experience now, but VR Zone London has now gone, like most of those pop up events, it only lasted less than a year.
You did it, you got to play, hilarious!
It's a must if you're near the London area []-)
Hello, i have a few questions. Me and my sister are planning on visiting London in a few months, and i really want to do this. So is there a waiting line before you start, do you buy your tickets in there?
Doing other things with your hands whilst driving in VR with a wheel. Hmm.🤔
Fun x10
could we get this at Dave and buster's
I think you get Jurrasic Park at Dave and Busters right? []-)
As a Rift and vive owner I feel these are the games that should be available to all owners through steam or oculus store now. There is a stagnation of bad vr titles and even some of the higher budget ones don't do the rift and vive justice.
Yeah, there is a bit of a drought of great games right now. Hopefully we'll get an influx of good stuff coming out of Oculus Connect 5 in September []-)
It's just one track, you'll get bored quickly.
This is what held me back from adoption. The tech is there but without development, it's useless. There's just no uptake from AAA development yet. Then you have a community which is isolated as well due to the high cost of buy in. VR needs to be more accessible to the masses to draw in good development houses and increase the quality of the titles available.
@@reneabrego1658 The few titles that are high quality are worth adopting the medium for. I just clocked 25 hours in Jet Island. Very cool VR experience.
Great video. Thanks.
Thanks Dave []-)
Maybe Switch 2 will support VR and have this!
OMG THIS LOOKS SOOOOOO FUN I WANNA PLAY SO BAD!!!!
That looks so good!
It’s a lot of fun []-)
want.........to..........do............this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Mike you have a Man-Loft not a cave!!!!! ;)
mikes man loft sounds like a gay bar
Haha []-)
How come this hasn’t leaked on the internet yet!
That's running on a Vive, which means somewhere there may be a executable program for this game running on a PC.
Did you ever find a copy?
With nintendo labo VR i hope they made an update for a vr option.
I played this in DC and it was so lit!!
This looks awesome. Hope to see this in vienna
Nintendo should release this for be racing rigs
I just wish Namco would release some of these experiences on PC for us foreign users. it’s very obvious that they run on SteamVR.
Is London the only place in Europe where this game is available?
Nice camerawork.
Thanks MrPingu []-)
I just played this in the O2, absolutely blown away!! It was basically a religious experience for me since I’m a huge mario kart fan xD
When are they bringing Mario kart to the states on all major VR headsets???.... Even though I know Nintendo doesn't want to go for that!!.... Especially not on psvr!!!
I know right.....I want it at home too []-)
I play this, that awsome :DDDD
? , when that player accelerates, does it feel like it on the Kart ?
So it's still available in london, is there a huge waiting line, i really wanna go to london just to try it out, but i don't live that far anyway from it anyway :)
Omg I wish I could play this
It's awesome! I hope it comes to VR home users one day []-)
Yeah that would be so cool
The game seems slow, and how do you power slide with the steering wheel?
i think this technically is the first mario game on steam (using steamVR i mean, shame it isn't on the store)
We all need to pester Cryzenx to make this in ue4! He's always making demos and he's already made a playable Mario kart
Do it! []-)
would it be worth 12 dollars tho here in california?
Damn, I got a fancy simrig with motion , would love if they release this to the market for consumers.
allready have all the hardware.. only need the software...but wont happen
Do they wash the headset after each run?
Right. Who can drive me to London :)
can I download this and play at home on my PC? that'll be great..
Sadly not. Hopefully one day []-)
Does this track have a name?
Where do you find this
Would be even cooler if it could simulate G force
The movement of the chair and wind machine do a good job []-)
is this a permanent fixture? i wanna play but cant justify taking the trip
It is permanent []-)
sweet new time i down this is happening!!
i wish i could get all the Mario games on pc
Holy shit imagine a *CTGP* version...
Tfw when he isnt playing the same session as the one on the side
On the right is abit delayed
They have this at k1 speed
Where to download it? :D
this is great to see. im shocked to see a Nintendo iconic game like Mario kart on the vive. any idea why its come about at all?.
It's made by Bandai Namco and licensed by Nintendo just as other arcade releases of Mario Kart like GP, GP DX and GP2, so it's just an extension or an established relationship. VR Zone is basically a Bandai Namco experiment into VR arcades that uses Vive hmd's, though the Ghost in the Shell has custom build hmds to handle the 4 v 4 multiplayer with body tracking, so it's not a relationship between Vive and Nintendo directly.
So the wheel is fake and its using the motion sensors to move left and right
Great video tho lol
Thanks Lewis []-)
NO WAY!! Is this still here?
I want thisssssssssssss
thats hell lots of cash for that vr for me.....but it seems fun..
for now i may just stick to tetris
I wonder how long was the single lap
“Go!” was sounded off at 1:10, and he crossed the finish line at 3:50
So about 2:40
I wear glasses so vr is hard for me 🥺
CALVOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
*Me while watching this video* FUUUUUTUUUUUREEE....FUUUUUUUUUUUTTTTTTUUUUUUURRRRREEEEEE
#Oculus Mike
£96 FOR one hour
Who was he playing as
Paul Copper i think he was playing as yoshi
That's not even his feed. It's not matched up
Oops oh you did notice sorry
To bad Nintendo suck too much to actually make this possible for consumer purchase.
Seems plain. Where are thw item boxes?
Oculus Rift VS HTC Vive
Daaamn, I wanna one in moscow russia
me need ME NEED. [] -)
the video is not synced up.. its like 3 seconds off..? makes it look really gimmicky and like the motion controls etc dont work
ah, i see. i hadnt watched the whole video, its explained at the end.
the hand tracking seemed hit or miss
At the end of the video I explain that. The video actually shows two different runs stitched together as screen capture wasn’t allowed []-)
yes indeed I wrote that while watching, so the tracking was fine to you?
Yeah, absolutely fine []-)
