December is a special month because Jin's birthday is 12/4 and Tae was born 12/30 so I expect a few more Christmas songs from Tae before then. Imagine in Korean age... a baby is considered 1 year of age in the womb and when they Tae was born 2 days later he was considered 2... It’s not that you can’t react to the mv in the first 24 hours. The etiquette is that you don’t post your review in the first 24 hours to avoid views being taken away from the original video. It would help greatly if you react to it in the first 24 hours and many times, rewatch it (like this mv since it took a few watches to understand what was happening). I think that helps the artists the most. You not watching it in the first 24 hours actually hurts the numbers. This is just the etiquette, not a rule. V the sculptor created an image of himself, V the statue or the sculpture. V sculptor must be projecting his own desires to live be with someone in his V statue. Or he could be a loner, seeking to live/happiness but doesn’t know how. This desire breathed life to his creation. Thus, when the V statue came to life, he also desired to be with someone and created a female statue (and maybe many others) and breathed life to her. The V sculpture lived the life, ie, going around, feeling the wind, being awed by other lives (like the butterfly), dancing, partying, celebrating, loving a girl. But that will end as he faced his creator later and realized he was not real, thus the heartbreaking sadness and acceptance in V’s eyes in the last scene. This is when you see the girl disappearing and even his face in the mirror partly turning into stone. The sculptor V is bloodied. This may represent his own brokenness, or relate to the scene where he was angry and frustrated and took such anger on his scuplture of V thus scraping that part of his face under his eye, and breaking him. It can also be theorized that when sculptor V broke the V statue, this instead gave life to the statue while the sculptor sustained the brokenness or injuries, sort of opposite effect. Or these could all just be a part of the sculptor’s dreams. Teaser 1 represents the darkness in his life. Teaser 2 is his daydream of a happier life, although it will end like any other dream, and he will go back to reality. Also the dark jacket and heavy footsteps may represent the darkness in the sculptor’s life, while the red jacket and whitish colors may symbolize life and lightness. The dark jacket V can also be the repre V sentation of Winter- when it is cold, dark and can bring a heavy feeling. For me there are both biblical and mythological elements in the storyline. And many ways to interpret or solve the puzzle. Sufficing to say, V succeeded in engaging us all to thinking and discoursing about all these. This is what I think at least. Right or wrong, the MV is brilliant. It evokes many thoughts even after watching the MV, and has real depth. V’s acting is so effective. I can still feel sadness for his character seeing his expressions. V’s vocal harmony with PH is also superb and magical! V’s visual is unparalleled throughout the video. It’s not that you can’t react to the mv in the first 24 hours. The etiquette is that you don’t post your review in the first 24 hours to avoid views being taken away from the original video. It would help greatly if you react to it in the first 24 hours and many times, rewatch it (like this mv since it took a few watches to understand what was happening). I think that helps the artists the most. You not watching it in the first 24 hours actually hurts the numbers.

V the sculptor created an image of himself, V the statue or the sculpture. V sculptor must be projecting his own desires to live be with someone in his V statue. Or he could be a loner, seeking to live/happiness but doesn’t know how. This desire breathed life to his creation. Thus, when the V statue came to life, he also desired to be with someone and created a female statue (and maybe many others) and breathed life to her. The V sculpture lived the life, ie, going around, feeling the wind, being awed by other lives (like the butterfly), dancing, partying, celebrating, loving a girl. But that will end as he faced his creator later and realized he was not real, thus the heartbreaking sadness and acceptance in V’s eyes in the last scene. This is when you see the girl disappearing and even his face in the mirror partly turning into stone.
The sculptor V is bloodied. This may represent his own brokenness, or relate to the scene where he was angry and frustrated and took such anger on his scuplture of V thus scraping that part of his face under his eye, and breaking him. It can also be theorized that when sculptor V broke the V statue, this instead gave life to the statue while the sculptor sustained the brokenness or injuries, sort of opposite effect.
Or these could all just be a part of the sculptor’s dreams. Teaser 1 represents the darkness in his life. Teaser 2 is his daydream of a happier life, although it will end like any other dream, and he will go back to reality.
Also the dark jacket and heavy footsteps may represent the darkness in the sculptor’s life, while the red jacket and whitish colors may symbolize life and lightness. The dark jacket V can also be the repre V sentation of Winter- when it is cold, dark and can bring a heavy feeling.
For me there are both biblical and mythological elements in the storyline. And many ways to interpret or solve the puzzle. Sufficing to say, V succeeded in engaging us all to thinking and discoursing about all these.
This is what I think at least. Right or wrong, the MV is brilliant. It evokes many thoughts even after watching the MV, and has real depth. V’s acting is so effective. I can still feel sadness for his character seeing his expressions.
V’s vocal harmony with PH is also superb and magical! V’s visual is unparalleled throughout the video. This MV and song are masterpieces that not just anyone can put together. Kudos to PH and as for V, he really is Korea’s best talent and treasure!
This is the Pygmalion story in Greek mythology. Tae is actually also a statue that came to life. All the characters are his imagination. This is not actually a “holiday” song. Winter song, seasonal song, yes, but not holiday song. The holiday song he did has not been released yet.

Not many are pointing out the last scene where V is wearing a white shimmery top. This may symbolize him being free from darkness (vs V in menacing black jacket) nor passing life (vs V in red jacket/cardigan). It’s just himself in the end, glistening in paradise.

I need army explanation videos stat. gosh. He pulled a Yoongi! 0.0 I think the lady was army. Bday cake celebrating with different army in white. But they are the other sculpture's he made. He is very lonely agree. Innocence being represented. He was the fake the copy the sculpture. The real one was bleeding knocked out probably by the fake. sigh. The man's mind is a scary thing. so deep. u don't think of an MV like this to this song. The vocals are so old school, Sigh. Taehyung and Park Hyo Shin’s voices blended well. Loved the harmonies. For those who do not know much about Park Hyo Shin, here’s a basic info about him.
Park Hyo Shin is one of the best, or perhaps the best ballad singer in S.Korea. He debuted in 1999 and was highly praised for his husky style voice and hitting high notes with such a low tone voice. His highest inspiration when he was young was Luther Vandross. The control he has over his voice is incredible. Because of his extreme singing skills, many singers in Korea do not even try to attempt to sing his songs because they are all difficult to sing and most importantly difficult to show such emotions like Park Hyo Shin does.
Park Hyo shin is also highly known in Korea for not singing in the same singing method but being able to show different types of styles and tones for certain songs. He was not very lucky with his previous companies. He faced lots of litigation due to them not paying him for the concert or any events. He also had to endure lots of depressions in his life that I will not mention.
But he was able to withstand it all and now he is a CEO of his own company, been doing musicals such as “The Man who Laughs”, “Mozart” etc. And hopefully will be releasing his 8th album soon.
Park Hyo shin is highly known for songs like “Things I can not do for you”, “Good person”, “Memories resemble love”, “Snow Flower”, “Breath” and “Wild Flower”.
I highly recommend listening to his song “Wild Flower”. It is a song that tells a story about his painful and difficult past but overcoming them and bloom again. Like a wild flower.

The story is from Greek mythology. Pygmalion, played by V in this narrative, was a Cypriot sculptor who, in Ovid's Matamorphoses, pledged to remain celibate and devote himself solely to his art. One day, he sculpted a beautiful woman out of ivory alabaster. She was so perfect that he fell in love with her. On Aphrodite's festival day, Pygmalion quietly wished for a bride with the living likeness of his "ivory girl." Aphrodite granted him that wish, and the sculpture became human. This is where V's story and Ovid's story diverge. In Ovid's narrative, Pygmalion marries the sculpture-turned-human. In V's narrative, there is no happy ending -- only the realization that artistic perfection takes human form only in the fictive world of mythology.

My take... The Tae in town - at the theatre, shopping, etc. is the "real" Tae; Sculptor Tae). We see him in town buying a giant teddy bear. Rather a romantic gift, I believe it is a gift for the "Newborn" Tae, whom he created. We then see, as Sculptor Tae is driving home at night, what appears to be a minor car crash in which he is injured.
In the meantime the Newborn Tae awakes, alone and confused; believing himself to be Sculptor Tae.
The female - and the others - I think only lived in the mind of Newborn Tae. Possibly previous, unsuccessful - or not fully successful - attempts by Sculptor Tae, who reused their clay in the construction of Newborn Tae. Thus Newborn Tae was infused with memories of the other sculptures, who possibly represented people from Sculptor Tae's life.
Newborn Tae felt something was wrong, but he didn't know what. He had no frame work to understand who - and what - he was. Until Sculptor Tae, his head bleeding from wounds received in the crash (and head wounds bleed A Lot - I know from personal experience) finally arrives home. It is only then all the fragmented memories come together and he can make sense of them.
And realizes that he is not real. Merely the creation of a lonely man. It is a sad moment for him; but at the same time it gives him clarity, and some comfort.
At least that's what I think. Not that I've thought too much about it. 😅
Tae is magnificent as always in the MV. And I love his voice in combination with Park Hyo Shin🥰
Edited The Darker possibility is that Newborn Tae tried to do away with Sculptor Tae, and takeover his life. But it was a life built on illusions. And it all comes crashing down when Sculptor Tae , who somehow survived, returned to confront him; forcing Newborn to realize that he could never be the real thing. (And Yes, I am thinking too much about this).

My first impression (with a little revision) was a link not only to FRIENDS, as some suggestions previously, but to Slow Dancing's video. I've not tied up ideas of Pygmalion, etc yet, but: In Slow Dancing, V is shown as an amazing artist/sculptor (multi talented as we see his creations), but very lonely. He creates a digital world from his ideas - even creates an unreal self to interact with the people in his world. In Winter Ahead (just thought-- a head!-) he imagines all sort of things in vivid scattered dreams, creates the statue - and imagines what it would be like if it was real..... But he has actually created a copy of himself, which he has covered up. When he looks at it again, he sees only the face of his unreal self (just V, not Taehyung? we see what was or could have been a 'V' changed into an 'X'.. the X on his 'own' neck saying 'I'm not really V- that's a persona) - - and he breaks the sculpture in frustration/sadness/desire to be himself. He then imagines his likeness 'alive', damaged from the breakage (we got a glimpse of it earlier, left of screen (?) with something fluffy about the shoulders..) and the self- image he just destroyed faces him, leading (like the ending of FRIENDS) to his realisation that he has to come to terms with himself/love himself., and be his real self.

Is he 'ARMY'? -the whole thing being an allegory...We have made him an idol, seen him in all sorts of situations: on stage, partying, going on walks, watching him sleep (lots of clips of him sleeping!), etc; and they have also has seen him low, depressed, crying, injured. Fans have imagined what it might be like to be with him in all these situations, and how it would be to do those with him......but for fans, those imaginings cannot be a real existence......He is a real person, and although he loves the fans, it is a 'fake/created/idealised love', in a way, because he can't have a personal relationship with all these people. Even if he wanted to break away from the fans at times, he couldn't bring himself to do that because of his idol-love for them and his feelings of wanting to help/heal/entertain them, and the fans would keep coming back for more! He is 'resigned' (in a good way, we hope) to continue his -sometimes lonely life, for the fans. The mansion representing everything that is entailed in his work life - he can't really leave it behind completely. (I know this is way out there, but I wanted to cast in another set of notions!).

I like this other set of notions! The ARMY allegory didn't occur to me, but it does tie to the energy of this MV, as well as the FRIENDS and Slow Dancing MVs. BTS members have always acknowledged the symbiosis between ARMYs and BTS.
I replied elsewhere that the sculptor who created Galatea in this MV was not PygmalionTae, but actually was GalaTae, because the real PygmalionTae was the guy at 8:50 who appears to be a painting himself from the streaks of paint on his face. Galatea ceased to exist when GalaTae woke up from his dream; he knows he'll cease to exist when PygmalionTae wakes up from his own dream. Taehyung brilliantly conveyed GalaTae's resignation at 9:40. Heartbreaking.
The dream dimensions in this MV mirror with the dream states in the FRIENDS and Slow Dancing (where the painting PygmalionTae could've been borne out of a baguette) MVs. I think Taehyung is hyperaware that he's living his dream right now with ARMYs. I feel in the future when Taehyung decides to walk away from being a celebrity to start his family, we will be ready as we connect these breadcrumbs that he laid down for us to follow.
