- Peter Thiel joins the Aspen Ideas Festival on Thursday to give his take on Elon Musk’s social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter. NBCUniversal News Group is the media partner of the Aspen Ideas Festival.
Worked up quite a sweat for a 6 AM interview 🤨
You can tell he just got a fresh pump of adren0chrome coursing through his system.
His comments about Truth Social, him saying the quiet part out loud.
Exactly
Can say the same about a lot of companies. It's great for traders though.
it would be if it were true but stock sales are public and they havent sold shares to use for the campaign
@@BobbyDon8 Which are some other public companies that are similar in this regard?
@@BobbyDon8 Which companies are even remotely comparable to what trump did with his meme stock?
One thing I learned is that executives in tech companies are able to restrict their children's use of social media platforms. They must have some superpower that parents who are not tech executives don't. It's called good parenting. 🤣🤣
So he doesn't mean he is worried about the implications of X becoming a financial platform but he worries about it being financially viable. That is a lot less insightful than i thought.
X is a loss in current "view", it will have to transform itself as a company to make profit.
Yeah - title is a bit misleading
@@archigoelXai is worth 25 billion and only exists because elon owns Twitter.
@@archigoel Elon is on public record stating that X will not only become the global townsquare (i.e. the core of a global democracy) but also the world largest bank. The guy doesn't play for scraps.
very interesting!
i think the same
completely agree
Yeah, its called parenting. You can't blame the society, social media and everything else for your failure as parents. Take some responsibility too.
Well said Greg. I know too many parents fail to teach their kids the fundamentals of life.
Goes both ways honestly
bad argument. 60% of people smoked cigarettes until surgeon general report came out. All those people bad parents as well? Deceit is real and deceit is on a scientific level, you can't blame an average 100IQ person for not spotting deceit.
@@globaldefenseorgwhat’s with IQ comment? Just stupid to even that to your comment
How dare you, don't you know it's the government or social media's responsibility to bring up children, parents are way too busy making tik-toks to pay attention to their children. What is the world coming to when we can't trust a trillion dollar tech company to mould young minds into responsible adults!
It should NEVER be about the advertisers. It should be about the customers who add value to the platform. Advertisers don't do that.
Advertisers are the customers. The $8/month people are a small revenue stream in comparison.
@@maxrebo1141 Advertisers must be replaced by subscriptions. It must be known who the account holders are. They must be held responsible for their words, and they must be AUTHENTIC.
What? Advertisers are the customers for social media companies. Users are the products.
@@antonymwangi4986 Advertisers should be REPLACED with subscription so that we can AUTHENTICATE and hold RESPONSIBLE who says what in a public forum (like we USED TO). The public forum today is a chaotic cacophony of children.
@k54dhKJFGiht Almost nobody wants to pay for social media, except mostly those who are trying to use it to make money.
It's so obviously that Thiel is on TRT. Look at his face.
Smart man and Palantir great company
Have you used their products?
@@creativecomputers6060 yes, I bought mine last month, couldn't be happier. Great customer service too
@@creativecomputers6060 no, but i have used products from the companies that use their products 🙄, do you say that about all non consumer facing products lmao
Thiel speaks quite plainly
Thank you Elon❤
He has 2 children?
Their his clone's!!!
Let's diss this guy with passion!
Peter thief looks un healthy? why do so many rich guys look so unhealthy compared to regular people
It's the cheap hair dye and weight loss. He looked healthier when he was heavier.
aside from a greased forehead, he looks pretty healthy for a 50-year-old dude.
hes 56
Yes, sth is off with him. He looks sweaty or too shiny, overly reddish skin and of course the bad haircut.
Constantly lying and feeling guilty they are fukin over the world for additional millions is likely the cause of why rich people look fuked up.
Hour and a half a week??? LOLLLLLLLLLL liesssssss
His kids are 3 and 4. Do you think he has even given them a PHONE? NO.
That's his hypothesis.
PT.. you in low weighted stocks. ITS alot of shares.. can you really move the needle...? From a PE perspective..
He’s a hypocrite
Huge one…
Why does anyone listen to this guy? He obviously struggles with being forthcoming in his remarks.
Wtf? When did you last hear a tech billionaire being honest on stage about how much time they allow their kids to use social media
What Peter did achieve beside talking trash?
he puts money into certain companies that became successful, thats a talent I guess
A high net worth
Why his face so wet
this question that i want to ask.
Thiel is a nut job.
Snowflake advertisers should go
Is Thiel on drugs? He's so skinny and always sweaty
Really Peter. One word predictors and you don’t understand the critique tech companies face? Destroy others for your gain. Great business model.
How about CNBC not platform fascists?
Congratulations, you've proved Thiel's point.
Stop free speech, right?
@@scientificmystic8310free speech is fascism
This isn't a productive way to look at the world.
But he is right @@LeoMessiEnjoyer
