You know im glad this mix exists for these songs, people don’t realize that it has many different tempos and sections that go well with each other among the crazy switch ups that mesh seamlessly. The Auckland sunrise was a nice facelift but didnt have the magic this mix had. They just ran with one track instead of having the amalgamation of both their tracks. Ill love this track always!
There's plenty of reasons why they chose not to release these songs - obviously potential rights issues, but there are other reasons too. They might be unfinished ideas or lost project files, or they might just want to keep them as dubplates so people have incentive to go see them live. Or they might just not want to release it because maybe they personally aren't huge fans of it, or it doesn't quite live up to their standards for release. Whatever the case, just be happy there's a rip on youtube still up and please quit calling them "fucking idiots."
These weren’t released probably due to samples and them signing to Hospital not long after making them, Defenceless was signed to Cue back in the day but never got put out as the label stopped releasing stuff
I could at least see Defenceless becoming a collab between them, everyone thought 'Just a thought' was by Grafix, but it turned out to be the both of them
LHMMusiq I asked Fred AGESSSSS ago about A Dream Of Us he said "not all tunes get signed" then i asked Grafix about Defenceless he said the exact same, although i also asked about cut's from the brixton mix and he said it sounded too much like a track they'd already made! :(
