U.S. Africa Command welcomes new leader

- During U.S. Africa Command's change of command ceremony held Aug. 9 in Stuttgart, Germany, Sgt. Maj. Richard Thresher, command senior enlisted leader, began the formal passing of the guidon in which U.S. Army Gen. Stephen Townsend, outgoing commander, U.S. Africa Command, transferred command to U.S. Marine Corps Gen. Michael Langley, incoming commander.
The Honorable Lloyd Austin III, U.S. Department of Defense secretary of defense, presided over the ceremony and accepted the colors from Townsend before transferring them to Langley, signifying the change in leadership.
Fair winds and following seas General Townsend. Ahoy! and welcome aboard General Langley. Semper Fiedelis.

Russia's Wagner PMC is way ahead of US AFRICOM despite the later being formed in 2007, in fact US should forget it's interests in Africa because the continent has adopted look East Policies, trying to increase influence would only be seen as a counter-Russia and China initiative instead of a mutual relationship building, US and it's NATO allies lost in Africa and ended up building anti-western sentiments due to the unequal trade and neo liberal policies that were forced on Africans, in fact Africa is more of an adversary especially to Europe than a potential partner, the sooner they accept the fact the better for them.
