I loved her performance as Giselle!! Enchanted was the first movie I ever saw from her before I started to watch more! She’s really underrated!! Thank you miss mojo! 😍😍😍
Y'all always complained about leo not getting an Oscar for so long but no one notices that she's the one getting snubbed by the academy countless times!!
Her ability to look completely different in each movie is amazing...the way she can just morph into these totally different characters. She has also managed to not become a diva in spite of her beauty and talent, she still seems down to earth and a genuinely sweet person. Love her!
How? She exudes no intensity or intimidation. She's charming and cute, that's it with some good acting chops. But Leonardo DiCaprio is a decade defining actor.
I love how versatile she is as an actresses. I never get bored when I watch the characters she plays. I also think the movie Miss Pettigrew Lives a Day should’ve been added to the list. That movie is so underrated and she did wonderful in it.
What pissed me last year is that Amy Adams didn’t get an Oscar Nomination when she appeared on Arrival and The Nocturnal Animals. However, both of the movies didn’t have an Oscar nomination for Amy Adams. She deserves it the next time she appear in a movie.
Arrival demanded at the very least a nomination, if not a win. It has been one of the biggest upsets of this decade. She made me cried, and I had cried over and over the short story the film is based on, but her performance added another layer to the story!
Yep what I wanted was for the Academy to at least recognize the craft she did on those two films. Would it be asking for too much if she at least got a nomination.
How is she underrated with 5 Oscar nominations. She was snubbed for “Arrival” and maybe “Big Eyes” and “Enchanted” (depending on your taste, since she was in the running) She also continues to get a lot of work and is respected and considered an A-List Actress by her peers and the Movie Industry. (i.e. Glenn Close has 6 Oscar Nominations) Her new HBO mini-series, “Sharp Objects” should only add another great performance and more nominations to her resume.
Amy Adams is amazing in everything, but there is something about her performance in Arrival that is absolute magic. It's like you can feel what the character feels (massive credit to the director as well). You're joyful with her and hopeful with her and tragically shattered with her. The film, but mainly Amy in it, blows me away every time I watch it.
I stumbled on to the movie called Junebug... and it’s one of those movies that never leave you. You can not fallin love with her. Her character, was the sweetest, most beguiling women ever! It’s little known, most likely found in the bargain bin, but do yourself a favor and buy it. You will never be the same!
I have Adams on dvd for "The fighter" and "The Master", she was great in both!! The most underrated actress in Hollywood. When is the Academy going to give her that long awaited Oscar!?!?
If she would have been nominated as a supporting actress in American hustle, she could have won the award easily. But Amy is a leading actress! Probably she won't win an Oscar at the next Oscar, but she will get all of the televison awards for her flawless performance in Sharp objects!!!
I hope she gets an Oscar soon. She deserves it. She can really act. She surprises me in almost every role she plays. She’s no “wing-it” girl when it comes to the roles she plays. The best kind of actor is the one who “lives” the character for a brief time in front of the camera, and makes the audience forget (at least for a little while) that it’s just an act. She not only reads her lines, but feels them. And it shows in the final results.
Been saying this. I feel like most A-list actors nowadays try so hard to take on oscar bait-y roles. There's no longer a need for actresses like Amy Adams who dissolve into the writing. It's sad!
Indeed they were and I actually didn't mind the 8 year or so age difference between Amy and Patrick. Although I would do a bit of a Meryl Streep master class any day.
My top 10 1. Junebug (heartbreaking and innocuous) 2. The Master (masterful and layered, should be studied in film schools) 3. Arrival (nuanced and emotional) 4. American Hustle (blew me away) 5. Sunshine Cleaning (sooo underrated) 6. Nocturnal Animals (just brilliant) 7. Enchanted (charming and breaks stereotypes) 8. The Fighter (plays against the type fantastically) 9. Vice (Lady Macbeth) 10. Big Eyes (feminine yet resolute) Honorable mentions: Doubt, Her, Catch Me if..., Charlie Wilson's War, Julie and Julia, Talladega Nights. Such a stellar actress!
10. Never seen it 9. I enjoyed it 8.never seen it 7.never seen it 6.Love that film. Her and Patrick Dempsey had amazing chemistry. 5.Seen it for 10 minutes and turned it off. Pure shit 4. I think I seen a bit of it. 3. Never seen it 2. Never seen it. 1. Never seen it Such an underrated actress. She reminds me of a young Nicole Kidman. People say she's like Isla Fisher but I don't see her looking like Isla.
I love her movies like Now You See Me and Wedding Crashers 😊😊😊 Oh Wait...😳😳😳 P.S But let's cut the crap, her performance in Arrivel and American Hustle was awesome.👍👍👍 😊😊😊
She was The Best in Arrival and should have Won the Oscar for that performance and they were SO Lame that they didn't even Nominate her...the Oscar Academy is a Joke!!! Love you, Amy!!!
I was revisiting the "Night at the Museum" movies as they're on Disney Plus, and one thing I had forgotten between now and the last time I watched the second movie is how Bloody Adorable Amy Adams is.
What's weird is I loved Amy Adams in Arrival and in Enchanted but her characters are so opposite. One is so serious and mature, the other is childlike. But both opposite roles, she was spectacular.
Some of the movies mentioned I haven't seen yet, but will be soon. There are a few I liked her in but they aren't mentioned here. She was good in Leap Year and I really liked the way she played Amelia Earhart in Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian. Like everyone else, I really think she deserves her Oscar now.
I liked them both equally but Muppets was more of my taste in terms of quality. Plus She nearly stole the show as Mary with both whimsy and surprising sophistication which I began to see in Amy from that time going forward.
To say about Adam's role in American Hustle that "Adam more than holds her own" is a misleading understatement at best. Adams literally carries the movie beginning to end, with perhaps the exception of Jennifer Lawrence. These two female characters ARE the movie, and stay with you forever.
I love her performance in Arrival, but my favorite Amy Adams performance is Amelia Earhart in Night of the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian. Loved that movie and Amy's character was the best part of it.
The only performances I have seen on this list are Enchanted (the one that started it all no joke intended) and Julie & Julia. Other movies I have seen with Amy are Night at the Museum 2, The Muppets, The DC Universe so far(minus Wonder Woman/Suicide Squad since she was absent), Leap Year and Trouble with the Curve. She has shown a surprising range of both whimsy and sophistication.
She is a very talented actress, her performance as Lois Lane in Man of Steel should have been on the list! One day the Academy should come to their senses and give her an Oscar!
An underrated Actress. She should have won an Oscar by NOW!!!!!!!!!
that just tells u oscar are bulll
And this year she didn’t get it either
@@patrickfrench332 Geraldine Page had eight Oscar nominations and she only won the 8th time she was nominated.
@@DTD110865 i think amy adams should have 8 nomination , she got snubbed for her roles in big eyes and arrival.
@@priyotomo203 facts. I was really shocked.
Totally underrated!! Needs an Oscar too!!!!
We agree!
Why dont you give her one
I loved her performance as Giselle!! Enchanted was the first movie I ever saw from her before I started to watch more! She’s really underrated!! Thank you miss mojo! 😍😍😍
Enchanted was the first movie I saw with Amy too. I was 15 ten years ago when I first saw it and I'm 25 now.
Manuel Orozco Nice!! I was only 9, and now I’m 20! I look forward to seeing Amy in new movies!
Well then I was 14 when the movie was in theaters. Last time I saw Amy was in Justice League
Manuel Orozco that’s awesome!!
Thank you
Hold the phone!
She’s nominated FIVE times for an Oscar?
Forget Leo! She needs an Oscar!
SIX TIMES NOW, AND LOSS AGAIN
Aylin Dogan YES! SOMEBODY GIVE THIS BEAUTIFUL LADY AN OSCAR!
Deborah Kerr was nominated 6 times and never won! She did receive an honorary oscar before she died though!
I never knew about her and Ben Stiller being in a work together?
@@SwallowPolloGeraldine Page beats both of them. She has 7 until she won an Oscar for "A Trip to Bountiful."
Y'all always complained about leo not getting an Oscar for so long but no one notices that she's the one getting snubbed by the academy countless times!!
Because none of her performances were as powerful and moving as DiCaprio's.
@@DC-zi6se lmao what a joke
@@DC-zi6se lol. Leo always over act his performances.
If only this video came out two months from now......her performance in "Sharp Objects" would be no. 1!
Adeel Intikhab so true!
I think her performance in Enchanted should be higher. That was an amazing movie, and I'm happy to hear its getting a sequel.
I'll be up for the sequel as long as the story is worthy and they don't overdue the Disney self parodies.
@@manuelorozco7760 four years later, the sequel is out!

I have a bit of a crush on her myself even though I can respect she is already married and has a daughter.
Manuel Orozco I already know that
We all know she is going to do amazing in Sharp Objects. Big Eyes, Arrival, and Enchanted are my favorites. Why doesn't she have an oscar?
Her performance in Enchanted deserves an Oscar award. SHE'S DUE FOR ONE!
Amy Adams is a fantastic actress. The best of our time. She deserves an Oscar!

...and yet, Streep only has to BREATHE in a movie & she gets nominated. I'm sorry, but I actually think that Adams is better than Streep.

Oscars are not the barometer for talent in Hollywood. To me, she is the best actress of this century.
I stumbled on to the movie called Junebug... and it’s one of those movies that never leave you. You can not fallin love with her. Her character, was the sweetest, most beguiling women ever! Giselle ❤️
I loved her performance as Margaret Keane!
Me too
Best actress of the 2010’s, been dropping masterclass performances since Junebug in 05’
Difficult to believe she hasn't taken home at least 3 statues with such a strong cinematic resume.
I know Leap Year seems like fluff but she carries the movie almost singlehandedly. It’s worth a watch.
Giselle is only number 6? Why? I mean, I know some of the others are more powerful, but still...
I am surprised THAT made it into the video, or that it wasn't just a honorable mention. They should have put big eyes instead

Big Eyes definitely needed to be on the list.
Anyone else thought Amy should have played Older Bev in It: Chapter 2 instead of Jessica Chastain?
steven alvarez Both are great but I always visualized Jessica in the role.
Then Amy Adams didn't wanted the role as much as her.
Actually, in sharp objects the actress that plays Amy Adams’ younger version is the same actress that played bev in It haha
They actually look alike 99%, not like Jessica
James McAvoy looks 0% like the kid from Chapter 1 and I see no one complaining.
