Thank you for the wonderful reaction. Absolutely love this song, even more after each listen. I'm with you on the ranting thing - it's one of the reasons I fell in love with this band.
Tim, glad you are ok. I live in North Central Georgia, so what hit you was initially supposed to hit us. As a survivor of multiple hurricanes, including Katrina, take it a day at a time. Life gets back to normal. Things like Band-Maid keep us optimistic. That is one of the powers they possess. 🤟
FCKEN EPIC!! This will melt people when played live 😁 Nice pick up on Akane using trad grip during the jazzy section, it's this attention to detail that sets this band apart All the best to you mate 👍🍻
The songs already released earlier in the year are just Band-Maid awesomesauce! The six new songs are so tightly integrated and complex, it's going to take a Tokyo minute to assimilate. But I already love Forbidden Tale, and especially The One. 😉🤘 btw - We should all wish a "Good Luck" to Band-Maid's new self-run management company: Maidit, Co., LTD! Will they managing other bands, boost Cluppo and Maiko projects, or tour more internationally? Or maybe they will expand their business interest to other sectors of the music biz outside of Band-Maid. I believe Kanami wants to get more into composing, scoring and production. And as for Miku and Saiki, the sky's the limit for what they'll want to do in merch, fashion and art, etc.. Thx, Tim!
I was just watching Steve Smith (Journey, Jazz drummer) go between "traditional grip" and "Standard grip" and I've never seen him go standard. I was thinking with Akane being a funk, Jazz, punk type drummer, would she every go back to a traditional grip, and here we are, Po! Nice catch, Sir! Praying for a full recovery of the folks in your area, and thank you to the grassroot folks for coming to the rescue. 🦍🍌
Hi Tim. Well spotted with Akane's left hand grip. I was in a discussion with a few others a while back about her doing that and why. Some were saying it was because she was a crap drummer (!!!!!). But I had no idea why she does it - and she does it a lot (don't ask me, I'm just an amatuer bassist - drummers are weirdo's anyway lol)! Even a drummer on YT with his own channel was questioning it. It's Akane ffs, there's going to be a good reason! So, it's some sort of traditional grip? Can you enlighten this dumb bassist? Best wishes Oh, and the new album is already out (25th September)!
That's the first time I've seen Akane use the 'traditional' underhand grip also known as the Jazz grip which evolved from military style snare playing. What we generally see in rock drummers, the overhand grip used to be sniffed at by purists. What Akane has been 'criticised' for is the way she normally chokes up on the left hand stick but there is a video here ua-cam.com/video/6nq-JeTUIEY/v-deo.html which explains why that choice is made - greater rebound

Nice catch on Akane's traditional grip of the drum stick.
Glad you're OK!
Saiki wrote this one. She also wrote Hate? about someone that betrayed a friend of hers!
Katrina survivor, got wiped out by Ida. God bless everyone, including the United Cajun Navy! Where's FEMA?

@@dazedandconfused318 Thank you! I must of been confusing the jazz grip with her choking her left hand grip. Learn something new everyday!
@@Davey-Boyd Very appropriate that she switched to that jazz grip for that section as it all had a jazz feel
I'm sorry to hear what you are going through. Hope the place recovers soon.
Check out "The One".
