Just saved me about $80.00 Thank You! I love this idea I have about 3 different non-used smaller crock-pots. While I was watching this I remembered that if you don't want to mess up the crock-pot use those plastic liners sold in any grocery store they are near the Turkey bags, but they are just plastic liners that go into any crock-pot. If you don't want to buy one and you already have one that you also use for reg. meals. Just use the plastic crock-pot liner and the best thing about those liners are that you wont waste any of your wax, when it cools down just pull the bag of wax out, twist it up and then put it into a zip-lock baggy to keep it clean from dust. And it's ready to be used again when you want to do another treatment. Pop in a new liner and make the meal for that nights dinner right after. :) LOVE this idea thank you so much Mrs. CuriousCreature!!!
My massage therapist uses warm paraffin wax in a heavy duty Ziploc bag as a heating pad of sorts to soothe my aching muscles. I've wanted to do the same procedure at home without having to spend a lot of money. A mini crockpot and household paraffin wax are the perfect solution! Thank you so much for sharing your video! Terrific idea!
Thank you so much for the DIY video. I actually put the solid wax in a crock-pot liner bag, placed it in a pot of hot water (I'm impatient :)) and the wax melted in about 5 minutes. From there I moved it (bag and all) to the crock-pot so it would stay warm (low setting). Unfortunately I had to switch to low-melt point paraffin (found on amazon). When I tried the household wax, the temp was way too hot for me to be able to place my hand in it. If I waited for it to cool to a usable temp (which is supposed to be roughly 125 degrees) it had already started to harden beyond the point of me being able to use it. Another nice thing about the liner bags is once the wax hardens you can just pop it out of the crock-pot and store it until you're ready to use it again. Lastly, a digital food thermometer works great for determining the actual temperature of the wax so you don't scald yourself. Cheers!
Thank you so much! I have a mini crock pot that unbeknownst to me came with my big crock pot last year...never been used! Thank you for your post. I will not worry about spending the $40 for the machine! :)
also a cheap treatment for Osteoarthritis. I had the same idea and recommended it to a patient. I got curious to see if anyone else had done it. Good Job!!
Omg...great minds think alike. A year ago I bought a used crockpot and household wax and lavender essential oil. The oil was really hot when I tested it and when it cooled down it was hard again. I am going to try it again; if that doesn't work I'll try mixing a low melt wax mixed in. I have used them at all because I was looking for a inexpensive and sanitary way to share this with my partner. I was looking for inexpensive gloves and foot baggies. I was wondering if the gloves at the dollar tree would work...couldn't figure out a way to do the feet. I was considering crockpot bags...I didn't want to pay the price they were asking then I considered foodsaver bags....but that product was $. I will try both your suggestions. Thanks
Do you think I could use my Gigi Wax Warmer to melt the wax and do this? I could put it in a jar and melt the wax down and use the bag and gloves method? I asked because you're using a crock pot and that's basically what these little warmers are.

What areas do you put the heated way on?

Yes the Gigi Wax Warmer would do well for this treatment. I almost bought one before I discovered the crock pot in the cupboard. Thanks for watching.
good video, thanks for posting :)
This does not work! You cannot use this wax!!!!
