    I'm not a Dutch Hunter, nor am I interested in it, but this was your best MSM yet, Larry. I like your laid back, conversational approach on this one. A good story that hooks the viewer right in.

    I'm not an outdoors man or have any experience in looking for gold or anything like that, but listening to Larry is always a learning experience, back in 2000 I used to have a Rottweiler dog he was very smart and brave dog, on one occasion ( winter time) I took him to the desert for a walk so I parked by the side of the dirt road and walked in a straight line for about 30 minutes or so and then I just started walking back to my car ,I was 100% sure I was walking back in the same direction as me and my dog come but after about 45 minutes minutes I wasn't back to my car and I just couldn't believe it because the are was almost completely flat no trees or big mountains I even found my foot prints ( and my dog foot prints) I used to collect ww2 binoculars back then so I always used to take one with me so I got to the highest part of the terrain and I started looking around and I was super surprised to see way out the dirt road and my car but it took more than an hour to get back to my car, it's unbelievable but walking in the desert you can get lost so easily, no wonder my dog kept looking at me like saying _ and i'm supposed to be the pet in this family?? Lol.

    Thank you for another mysterious and intriguing story. I never leave these episodes without my imagination completely fired up! Thank you, Larry and crew.
    P.S., It would be great to hear from our friend Jack San Felice again soon. Perhaps he and Larry could team up for an episode together? Either way, you guys are the best!

    I've researched the area myself, from what I've found it's an old burial ground..there's a cave that was looted there years ago from sources I've found..the images I possess from my research indicates potentially just that

    I'm like you. I don't want to back in there on foot. In the early 80's I was with some friend who worked at the stables at Quarter Circle U and had the opportunity to go on a trail ride back towards Miner's Needle. Sorta intrigued me how easy it would be to get lost back there. But your horse always knows the way back home. That's why I wouldn't go back there on foot. 😜

    Interesting story, like always. Thanks Larry.
    An old timer in the Sierra gold country told me when you find a quartz vein the surface is usually barren of gold due to oxidation over the millenia it's been exposed. He said that's why you'll find 20 - 30 foot deep tunnels or shafts in the vicinity of a quartz vein. Those are prospects where the miner was trying to get under the oxidized zone to find out if the vein was profitable enough to mine. Your outcrop having visible gold in it is a good sign. Who knows how much gold is under the oxidized zone.

    • @larryhedrick254
      @larryhedrick254 Рік тому +2

      Elias:
      Due to the fact that both ends of this quartz vein remain underground and the steepness of the exposed area where alluvial material from above would tend to accumulate, I’m of the opinion that because of our very heavy monsoon activity, I don’t think this vein has been exposed for millennia but rather perhaps just a few hundred years or even less.
      Of course also I’m just guessing that it was 10 or 15 yards as I did not step it off or anything and it definitely has a pinkish or rose color to it.
      I have repeatedly searched google earth for the spot but due to google earth flattening and rounding off everything the way it does I haven’t been able to find it. However, I think armed with my photographs I took, a guy should be able to find almost the exact spot I was standing and this puts him very close and minimizes the search area.
      I had those two specimens around for years and years but I cannot find them. They were no bigger than a 50 cent piece and just a thick each way.
