Have some respect for the old man, Advani ji. When a President (King or Queen) stands up to present an award to a sitting crippled (due to old age ) citizen, it only reflects the grandeur of the receiver and humility of the president. As a protocol, the PM always sits during such award ceremony. Nothing to be ashamed of.

The President is the first citizen of India. The reason India went parliamentary system was because India after British rule did not want all the power in the hand of one person but at the same time, President position was constituted as very respectable position, non political position.
