Excellent teaching panel !!! Thankyou so much , much needed message for everyone who is humble enough to admit they’re struggling in life.
I’m going to add that in the message of encouraging people to be open and sharing with other Christians how you feel and what’s going on within your private life ; from my past experiences in this I feel strongly that you should be careful in who you choose to be open with , and what you share. Not all Christians are safe in my experiences; and can do a lot of harm with judgemental harsh unkind and unsupportive responses/ words into your private struggles and hurt.
And it’s not easy to forgive such people .
I’ve learnt to take my private struggles and hurt to my Heavenly Father first and then carefully choose who to share them with nxt and go from there.
I love Henry Clouds books. Thankyou for having his wisdom on this podcast.
And I was admiring how incredibly beautiful and well groomed you ladies look !! Just stunning. Gorgeous from head to toe- well done ladies .
Please teach Christian women to be kind and careful with their words to hurting damaged people.

I really needed this. I think I sometimes say I'm okay because I'm afraid I'll fall apart and collapse into a puddle of tears if I admit I'm not. This whole past year has been the worst of my life. Not just for me, but for my family. It's all been too much. Upside - it has drawn us closer to God and each other.
I'm so glad Dr. Cloud talked about medication for anxiety and depression. I've been on Lexapro for the last few years, and thank God for it! Like Dr. Cloud said, it doesn't make me happy or make my problems go away, it just calms my mind so everything seems manageable. It's greatly improved my prayer life too. Before medication, my prayers were more begging, pleading, and tearful. I felt as if I wasn't reaching God. Since being on medication, I feel so different when I pray now. My mind is calm and I know the Holy Spirit is with me. Praise God!

Having a chemical imbalance that is corrected with a anti depressant does not mean you’re lacking faith. If your leg got cut no one would judge you for going to the hospital and getting stitches and a bandage so what’s the difference. God wants us to be happy and not be depressed and utilize doctors to be an extension of Him. Glad you’re starting feel better ❤️

I am bipolar and medication for the last 20 years. I live a great life. I feel it is my responsibility to tell all I know so in case anyone is concern about taking medication for mental illness and I can support them. I think taking medication for mental illness is no different than taking medication for diabetes. It is all a hormone imbalance in our bodies that were correcting. With good medications you can live a superb life, your family and everyone around you will be happier also because you're healthier and you're interacting them as you usually do. I'm grateful every day for my doctors and my medication.

Thank God for leading me to click on this video. I never thought you would be talking about mental illness. My 20 year old was diagnosed when she was 16 and it's been hard and yes I will admit embarrassing, because of the stigma, but I am not the same mother I was prior to her diagnoses. God has truly developed me and renewed my mind through our daughter's illness. THiS IS SO NEEDED in the church. We have to talk more about mental illness. I remember my daughter telling me before the meds it felt like her brain was on fire. My husband and I had no idea, but God did. So yes I thank God for medication, therapist, psychiatrist, Jesus, Holy Spirit and this podcast😅😍

I truly believe the story of Job is also largely to teach us what Not to do when we are in the presence of others who are going through severe crisis. I find that the text really reflects what victims of crime, victims of trauma, victims of medical crisis, experience from third parties when they really need comforting; they actually receive to the contrary, what Job received....judgment and distancing, suggesting that they themselves could never go through such a crisis, and that the crisis was something Job had done and brought somehow, upon himself. The scripture, I really believe it's trying to teach us that the scriptural example is Not how to respond when we see others in a tragic, dark or challenging place.

Absolutely. We are to WEEP WITH THOSE WHO WEEP! Such a God ordained session. Thank you for speaking up about this! Many believers are so deceived, and confused on this note. God doesn't expect us to be perfect nor to act as if everything is perfect. Jesus is authentic, real, an emotional being, and pure love. ❤

  • @ThuLe-eh1xe

Joyce is intelligent. She is practical. She teaches us not to be ashamed of who we are, what we think, feel and believe. It is better to value your belief for the present time ( your belief might change in the future) than to follow many beliefs of the world. It is an insult to God not to stand up for yourself. Just be bold to speak your mind even if people think it is wrong, dysfunctional). Then you will not be afraid of people anymore. You will have victory, freedom.
The right people will support you. The wrong people ( they are not actually wrong., they are different), ignore them.

I've listened to so many of Joyce's sermons and these "Talk It Out" shows, but this is by far my absolute favorite right now. This relates to so much in my life and lives of other women in my life dealing with abusive and narcissistic relationships stemming from the same person. I feel a calling to be a safe space for anyone who is going through the same thing. It is so hard to get people to believe you when they don't see a side of a person. The gaslighting I have endured has made me feel insane. It caused me to derail most of my life. God saved me and I feel this video will be an essential reference for me moving forward. Thank you and thank God!!!

I am going through the same here, mental problems that never goes away, even my doctor is questioning me. Do not take that to the heart, because people do not know what to do, sometimes not even the doctors, because some of our problems does not have an answer, doctors do not know what to do, or don’t care to do what is right. Your friend grew up and learn to behave that way, society in general. I don’t answer anymore, because I don’t see a point in asking “how are you doing?”, if I can’t tell the truth, neither the other person, because we wear it a mask everywhere. Of course we don’t need to tell everyone our problems, but I do think it is a lie when you answered that you are fine, or that you are blessed, while you are suffering, miserable, and the circle goes on with the other person saying the same thing, they din wanted us to know that their lives are not perfect, or they are not holding everything together.

I received prayer this week and was told taking my medication wasnt right, I needed to rely on God only. I've been struggling for 3 days because I felt terrible for taking it. I'm in the word, I'm praying, I know God is working. I prayed this morning for the Holy Spirit to reveal to me if it is ok for me to take my medication. This video popped up on my UA-cam feed today and it was an answer to my prayer. Thank you so much for talking about this!

I am learning what His love looks like. It's one day at a time. Thank you all for being real like this. There is a lot of rules and expectations that the Christian world puts on you by default. Jesus came and bucked the system. He cared more about people than rules. It's so nice that I am not failing by being imperfect during the trauma. it's ok to be not ok. Amen to the discussion! may i also add ,that we ,as christians ,need to drop the being quick to answer someone who trying to open up , it causes such pain as the person speaking is trying to open up but isn’t allowed because the other hasn’t heard the persons heart . How can the first person trust anyone with the pain they are trying to get rid off ? From earlier on in my christian walk ,I learnt to cry on the Lord as I couldn’t find anyone ! my trust was none excisting it took me a long time to find a shoulder! Things are very different now ,my heart has been healed ,and The Lord has filled my heart with compassion and love for the broken, the outcast the rejection as it was very real in my personal life God has done great things Thank You Lord!!! He doesn’t leave us the way He found us ! Glory to God He is Love And He IS kind 🌷🦋

I have had traumatic brain injury since 1968 and by the time I was in my late forties when it became disabling. I have difficulty with information processing so emotional processing is a challenge. But God is gracious with me and I often compare myself to Jonathan who was King Saul’s disabled son who became King David’s close friend and even like a brother to him. Saul’s power hungry desires left Jonathan helpless but Johnathan wasn’t abandoned by King David. My Davids are in the form of peers and friends and, of course, my savior. Everyone else abandoned me because they don’t know what to do with me or even believe that I have TBI. I have learned that my Lord will not abandon me instead He blesses me with people who understand invisible disability coming alongside me and provide me with guidance and friendship and joy!

In the past few years, I have suffered from alot of loss, several accidents but coming to terms with it all has been a real struggle, there are just so many different things, the one that I hold on to is God, my faith has been very weak, and the devil's been having a party all over me, and it's like I can see him laughing while polverisng me, and I know so many times I have said I won't leave the Lord, I know it's a lie, consumeed by emotions, confused about what is happening, begging for the pain to stop and you can see it, but quite can't reach it,lord Jesus please don't forget me, help me I can't with everything inside me your all that I am, my heart has been broken from death and despair father I love you what do do
