That is one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard. She is incredible. She was lost and in pain. She was looking for guidance and salvation. There is no doubt who she was talking about. She said "I heard them (other believers) all sharing a new found conviction in them, are you really all that they make you to Be???" Basically Messiah -- are you real? There is no doubt she is talking to Jesus, and asking for help, and guidance, and relief from pain an suffering. On her knees, she is basically saying "Please take me and help me -- I surrender to you."

WOW! Heart rending, beautiful, touching to the depth of the soul, and in a unique way comforting. An awesome presentation from a powerful voice the demands your attention. Yes, this touch me deeply and there have been times I in my life when I was right there. In my case it was faith I turned to, but it was almost like she was singing my despair. My prayers were answered and the resolution on the other side was strengthening. To know that yes, we are never truly alone, not when we choose to reach out.

A heartfelt song...with this song Mori ministers to most us especially at time like this, spirit field Mori. This is also the other side of Morisette. Some people knows Mori as a singer, famous singer, Mori is also active in Church were she involves herself as Music Team. Dave Lamar is a missionary. Gary Valenciano composed the music of this lovely song back in the late 80s and I was thrilled when Morissette was asked to sing it for a Tribute to the late Freddie Santos, the lyricist. Mori pulls at my heartstrings! I have hit rock bottom, and I know what it’s like to be on my knees in prayer, like a child, begging for help from the Almighty. I love this rendition. For folks who are struggling, this is the only way to pray. 🌸🎶💕✨

I believe this song touches every one us absolutely. These are the questions we usually ask in times of troubles or pain. However, I felt also a little of a guilt somehow simply because we only think of HIM only in times like this. But, forget to thank HIM in times abundance. Hi Dave, usually tune in for AJ but wanted to see what this song is about and who better to learn about it than you! Morissette has a beautiful voice and I enjoyed your breakdown of the song. I've listened to several of her songs and I can easily picture her singing on Broadway when it re-opens or performing Disney songs.

She kneels in a cross section of two light paths, a cross as the symbol of the savior. Behind her, the darkness. Which is nearing her, when not saved, from the darkness. It is messiah who is at the cross path, in the musical this song is from. There Jesus is nailed to the cross, which illustrates the cross path of being torn between heaven and faltering. Darkness and Light.

I’ve heard this song years back with the original singer/composer Gary Valenciano and it made me cry. Now with Moresette’s version it still makes me cry because the message is the same and it hits me to the core. I know millions can relate and will love this song in a very very special way🙌🏻

This must have been the 10th time or so in watching this music video and yet I still get emotional and teary-eyed once the video is over. So yes, the song has profound impact to viewers like me and to those who are struggling and coping of what's going on in the world right now. On a very personal basis, at certain times in my life I question my faith.

One of the most beautiful things in the world is when a person comes to Jesus in brokenness and seeks answers! I've listened to her sing this at least 10 times and I still tear up every time.
I remember that painful and sweet place of humility and brokeness before the Almighty. Such a wonderful place to be. Every born-again Christian remembers it. That place of calling out to God, and Him answering and setting you free. Through all the years, He has never left me. The love has only gone deeper and deeper. This song reminds me of these bible verses..... A bruised reed, He (Jesus) will not crush. A smoldering wick, He will not put out. A broken and contrite heart, He will not turn away. It is so true! I have experienced the goodness of God myself, and nothing in the world can even come close to it. Jesus is everything in this song and so much more. "Messiah" means the one who saves. "Jesus" means salvation/savior. "Christ" is simply the Kione Greek word for the Hebrew word "Messiah". The Old testament was originally written in Hebrew. The New Testament was originally written in Greek. Jesus is the Messiah. Morissette is a Christian and understands this. She is singing her experience with God, that is why it is so emotionally raw. This is not a new song, actually. Gary Valenciano first came out with it in the early 1990's. It's the first time Gary rearranged the song for another singer, Morisette. The message to me is this: God is not some ethereal, distant being. God loves me and cares for me, and he wants to be my savior, my messiah. He did 2000 years ago at the cross, and he is still doing it - being my savior - now as I walk in this thing called life.
I experienced being at the point of death, literally. My blood pressure fell to 70/50 and i lost about 2 liters of blood in less than 2 hours. I had 4 IV lines fast dripping dextrose water just to keep me alive while waiting for blood transfusion to be cleared. In that moment I prayed: Lord, into your hands I commit my spirit. I pray for a few more years to spend with my family, but if you want to take me now and be with you, then it's fine by me. The doctors then put me to sleep to prepare for surgery. I woke up ten hours later. He became my Messiah once again.

I’ll have to listen to the song on her channel, as I was busy doing other things, and didn’t really sit down and immerse myself in the song as I normally do. Also, I want to be able to see the lyrics that were superimposed in the video. I’m was too small on my phone.

@@whatitdodave I listened to her original, and while it is a beautiful song and performance, it didn't resonate as strongly as I thought it would. although she was singing with a lot of emotion it didn't reach into my soul as Angelina does. I'm not suggesting AJ could do this better. It's more like AJ can reach me emotionally on less meaningful songs. While I liked this, it is not something I would put on repeat. I've only listened to a few Morrisette performances, and they are all exceptional, but they haven't touched my soul.
