They're unreleased music is always the best. I love CocoRosie, have been a fan since 2003/2004 -- Bianca's lyrical peak was definitely on La Maison thru Ghosthorse, but after those albums, Idk if it was just her lyrics that became a bit pretentious, as if trying too hard to cling to that poetic-fantasy. They explored with new music on Ghosthorse yes, but it worked with the amazing lyrics but after that album they began experimenting more with different music and it didn't appeal to me. Bianca's visual art always gets better and better though and never ceases to amaze me. I, in fact beleive she's one of the greatest artists of all time. Musically, I just really miss the sounds of 'La Maison...' and 'Noah's Ark'. I love they're dark stuff. I also loved the sense of psychedelia on both first albums, especially with the voices; like wearing headphones the song 'Good Friday' is a perfect example. Just a preference. However, I've seen them everytime they've been in Los Angeles and at Coachella and they're shows are mind-blowing. They are, and this has been quoted in articles, By far one of the most influential musicians of our time. I can listen to Sierra sing all day.
+halo bonez I don't know, I've been heavy into her solo project Bianca Casady and the CIA - Oscar Hocks and between Heartache City and that I think her poetry is at peak. And Oscar Hocks her delivery is really venturing out into dissonant unresolved realms while still maintaining the beauty and mystique . And her own harmonized overdubs really add a lot. Oscar Hocks is all around really exceptional work.
I don´t think she lost interest in CocoRosie( and I certainly hope that she didn´t xD)This is what she said at the time when Heartache City came out, same time when Oscar Hocks came out "CocoRosie is kind of a being and it has a certain force and a certain personality. Sometimes I can remove myself from it and I can be into some other style and some other thing, but it still goes on somehow. It has a momentum. I’ve always thought of it that way, as a third presence".She also said in another interview that she perceives her solo work as part of the CocoRosie-universe even if it was a different experience.
Have you ever seen an AWOL Marine Who's lonely, lonely? Imagine a garden filled with lilies of innocence Bursting, unlashes all of my possibilities of you Unbroken, like to turn back time all of a sudden Imagine innocence Imagine a garden A garden filled with colors Glow in daylight Lost inside alone and shining Beyond them was a holy enchantment Imagine innocence Have you ever seen an AWOL Marine Who's lonely, lonely? Those thieving, haunting, captive to my father A first mate, a shipmate scorned by his battles Was much darker than a forest Filled with evil fairies Imagine a garden A garden filled with colors Glow in daylight Lost inside alone and shining Beyond them was a holy enchantment Imagine innocenceHave you ever seen an AWOL MarineWho's lonely, lonely? What's"AWOL" ? :)
Sounds like she says “she’s clowny, clowny”. Maybe the first part is about a clown? Called awol moe. Makes sense cause of the sound of the song
Coming back to this today... gosh, you sweethearts saved me so many times since I got out from that toxic home. 🙈🙈❤❤🧡🧡💛💛💚💚💙💙💜💜🤎🤎🖤🖤🤍🤍
