If they coulda done THAT they shoulda, given how BAD in general GAR Naval forces was outnumbered given CIS Naval forces something to worry about.. even for the likes of Trench an Grevious.. an built themselves a super ship capable of destroying big navies by itself too. Just with absurd levels of firepower an armor an geared towards stealth an ambushing... Then crushing CIS fleets an bases... Perhaps ALSO being able to launch multiple elite squadrons of attacks ships an armies too.. woulda been way more effective then what they did do vast majority of the war
What really bugs me is how The Empire was able to get The Stygium crystals necessary for a cloaking device for a FULL-BLOWN SUPER STAR DESTROYER in later years?! They probably used up ALL the remaining Stygium crystals in the galaxy just for that one ship. Or, they would've had to recycle used crystals for the cloaking device to have any hope of working properly. Seriously, a 19 Kilometer long ship that is one of the most powerful ships in The Empire having a whole CLOAKING DEVICE for itself?!? BS!

Yularen actually argued against Kenobi's attack by pointing out how he lacked the resources to openly attack Trench and how the enemy admiral wanted the Jedi General to attack. If Kenobi did attack anyway and Anakin was forced to just do resupplies, Trench would eventually notice that Organa, was being resupplied. And in turn, he would eventually catch on to the fact that the Republic, has a small Corvette with cloaking capabilities. So in the end, attacking and destroying Trench was the best course of action in the long term.
After Anakin took Admiral Trench out, who assumed command of the Separatist fleet above Christophsis? And how did it last so long? The only possible explanation is that there have to be some other Tactical Droids on some of those ships. But we saw only one. And he was destroyed along with most of the crew on the Invincible.

Wait, over 30 ships? I always thought there was less. Did you count them all in the episode itself? Because if so that's impressive. I did something similar when I wrote my Battle of Kamino fanfic a long time ago, where I rewatched the season 3 episode and counted every ship on both sides and even then I don't think I countered nearly as many as you describe being in this battle.
Taking out the enemy commander or command ship or both, seems to be a standard republic military tactic during the clone wars in several battles to gain a decisive military advantage. Although here in the above battle, that tactic only served the republic navy well for a while and was the constant and never ending stream of reinforcements that Yulerans fleet received that proved the difference in deciding the battles outcome.
Those wondering why the Venators fall apart so easily is because they're built as assault carriers first and foremost, so they're not built for direct ship-to-ship combat. As for why the Republic would willingly send their Venators in as battleships, there's a reason for that: they don't have any other options. In Legends, they were supposed to be paired together with the Victory class but by the start of the war, the damn thing wasn't ready due to propulsion problems. Worse, at some point in the war, the Victory's builder, Rendili StarDrive, actually seceded from the Republic, setting the ship back even further. By the time the first batch of Victories were sent to the front, it was too little too late, the war was drawing to a close. Edit: Also as Geetsly's said, Trench brought several Lucrehulks. Just one of these bad boys alone is menacing, enough to hold a blockade on its own without support. Put 12 of them and you got a nightmare for any fleet commander that isn't Thrawn trying to bust through them. Lastly, Trench's Invincible is nothing to scoff at either. That thing is armed with quad heavy turbolasers, which are the same type of guns you get on those Lucrehulks. Not to mention it has Thermal Shields, which can pretty much stop any projectile based weapons (like torpedoes) from getting past.
Wait, Victory was built by Rendilli? I thought that was a Kuat design. Are Lira and her dad(?) employed by Kuat or are they an independent engineering company?
What I always wondered and it's overly technical. Who ran day to day ops on the ships. Not the Droid ships. We know about them. Who cooked, laundry detail, ship maintenance fighter and bomber maintenance crew. Gunners and was there a barber shop or 3 or 10? A canteena or shoppett/convenient store? What was life like on a star cruiser star destroyer? Was/are there RnR areas? Storm troopers and clones can soldier all day. But what about an electrician or radar repair tech, gunners mate.
Latrine duty was pretty light, given their entrees of clear protein glop. Same with KP duty. They prolly used something like a yogurt machine into their kitchen kit and canteen for water.
Are Delta7s assigned Clone pilots, or are those beauts Jedi exclusive? Sharp lookin’ craft…something about deltas. SW should have a delta model called ‘Mirage,’ in tribute to France’s Dassault.
There is no way the Republic could've won against 12 Lucrehulks. Especially not because of how much star fighters they carry. A single Lucrehulk can carry 1500 starfighters. 12x1500= 18000 starfighters. Not even including the starfighters from the Invincible and the ones latched on the back of the Municicents if they have any.
Battles on a scale we'd consider battles are actually quite rare in Star Wars in general. (Legends canon and Disney canon) Exceptions are Endor, Coruscant, and Exegol. Star Wars has an extremely poor sense of scale.

iirc usually the materials for stealth ships are rare to the point that their entire stocks are depleted extremely rapidly

On Republic ships Clones performed many of those roles.
